Neglected sitting area

Let's see...3 seats missing, 2 seats flattened. No agency taking care of it. In the meantime, the Maspeth Memorial Square will continue to look like hell. Whose idea was the circle of yellow metal chairs, anyway?

This is an example of the beautiful public amenities that they provide Maspeth while trying to shove an unwanted school down their throats.

While they are lobbying for the school, they can at least fix up the joint so there is some Quid Pro Quo.

What City Council member is responsible for this vicinity?

This will really be great in the news photos in the Maspeth Memorial Day parade in 27 days.

Or sooner if some responsible local papers picks this up. Did I say "responsible"? Sorry.

The residents of Maspeth don't deserve a school if this is how they treat objects in their neighborhood!

If they build the new high school on 74th street, this is what the area around it will look like. Wait till you see all the graffiti. It's coming! Thanks City Council. Special thanks to you Lizzie.

The residents of Maspeth certainly didn't vandalize this area. The "students" did. Probably the illegal aliens.

So, you're half correct. If this is what "students" do, they do not deserve a high school. They deserve prison.

Actually, it looks like a vehicle jumped the curb. Maybe they let Guyear out of jail for the weekend.

I'm glad they hit the bench instead of that tree... Seriously, that place needs more shade trees and greenery...

I'm surprised "We have a stake in our Community" Maspeth Federal did not fix this, they seem to have neglected the sitting area after they got what they wanted with their drive thru expansion, which the Community Board approved!!! Where was JPCA on this matter?

Where were Dennis Gallagher, Anthony Como and Elizabeth Crowley on this matter?

Where was COMET on this matter? How about Marge Markey?

Marge lives on 69th street and her office is across the street from the bank near the Maspeth Federal Loan Center. Surprised she hasn't done something positive regarding this issue. Where is she anyway? Haven't seen her since she was re-elected. Guess we won't see her until the next election. Thanks Marge!

re:the yellow seats....DOT was notified but we all know how slow they work. When they get around to it the benches will be replaced!

the bench looks like someone flatten it so they can sleep there over night. did anyone notice a homeless person?

There is a group of them. But I don't know how they would flatten the seats and uproot the circle.
