BSA strikes again!

From the Daily News:

Springfield Gardens residents who oppose plans for a motel in the neighborhood are planning to take the developer to court after losing a contentious battle with the city.

The city Board of Standards and Appeals cleared the way this week for developer Saleish Gandhi to build a two-story motel on Springfield Blvd. near the Belt Parkway.

Opponents thought they had defeated the project in September when new zoning laws kicked in - allowing only a one-story building at the site.

Neighbors say Gandhi has a history of running "hot-sheet motels" - short-stay motels that attract criminal elements - in Brooklyn, Long Island City, Jamaica and Huntington, L.I.

The group is now raising money to hire a lawyer and get an injunction against the project.
