Fun in the summer sun?

Kids of all ages cool off in Astoria pool, rated best in Queens by The News.

Queens' cool pools rule

ASTORIA
19th St. and 23rd Drive, Astoria

Horror-show bathrooms had seatless bowls with no toilet paper, and sinks had no soap or hand towels. On busy days, the staff cuts off admission by noon to reserve space for day camps.

Here's a Monday pool update from Brooklyn, courtesy of Gowanus Lounge.

That's modern management, care of the two morons, Benepe and Lewandowski. The twin genetic defects who report to Commissar Death and Taxes.

Are they selling off the soap, paper towels and toilet paper? And, how much do they get for the toilet seats?

Do the day camps pay off on the side to have the pool to themselves?

A riot took place last year at the pool. In a rare flash of candor, someone over at astorians.com posted it when it happened.

This is Astoria, a private fiefdom full of faceless peasants. Who do you think?

This reporter, who arrived early for the afternoon session, waited two hours to get in. Prepare for relentlessly beating sun while you wait on line. And watch out for the suave line-cutters, who slip in underneath pool staffers' noses.

Young teenagers and unattended younger kids stuff the place, so swear words and rough-housing abound. Young lifeguards seem unfazed. The gates opened 15 minutes late after an angry lecture about the rules."

Adrian Benepe and his lapdog, Dorothy Lewandopeski once again demonstrate that they don't have a clue how to run parks in Queens County.

Dorothy,
Not everybody prefers to get a job on the backs of minorities by violating their civil rights.

And, what difference does it make that the writer wants to be paid for his/her time? Do you cash your ill-gotten paycheck? Did you ever share it with, or apologize to the minority woman whose job (food, clothing, tuition money, mortgage or rent money) that you stole from her?

You clearly are unfit for the job. The comment writer is clearly more qualified than you. By writing the comment, the writer worked harder this year than you have in your "Career".

So if there's no toilet paper in the bathrooms, then I think I know where the kids are relieving themselves...

Ah, the time honored "sneak into the pool"

Dad used to tell a story of sneaking in on Opening Day (as in THE opening day) - said they jumped off the deck that surrounds the pool (about a 1 story drop)

I haven't yet been to any of the city's pools. On days when you really could do with a dip they gotta be crowded as everyone's longing for a bit of refreshment.

I usually just take the Q53 from Jackson Heights instead. An hour later, it'll drop me off on Rockaway Beach. I wonder if people in NYC are aware that some of the world's greatest beaches are only a subway or bus ride away.
