QUEENS (WABC) -- One of the largest counterfeiting operations in New York City history was uncovered Thursday in a warehouse in Queens.
Police reportedly seized 50,000 pairs of counterfeit sneakers, 40,000 counterfeit handbags and 5,000 pieces of counterfeit clothing found at 129-02 Northern Boulevard.
The street value of the bogus merchandise is roughly $4.5 million, according to authorities. Their legal counterparts are worth about $16 million.
Police say it took eight tractor trailers to haul the goods away.
No arrests have been made.
