NYPD cleans up Jamaica corner

From Clean Up Jamaica, Queens:

Only in Jamaica would some low-life slumlord try to rent out a public sidewalk next to his building for cars. And that is what was happening at 90-03 172nd Street with the landlord of the typical low-class third world apartment building that are all over Jamaica and other parts of Queens like metastatic cancer. Good job leaders for allowing such crap to be built and destroying the essence of communities. Not only are these buildings total eyesores that you would typically see in some third world countries, but are cheaply built, not well maintained, have garbage issues and also house "low-class people" who pretty much do whatever the hell they want.

But this building took it a few steps further. On a recent walk I noticed several cars parked up over the sidewalk next to the building, including a green taxicab. Well of course I took a photo and sent it to Sgt. Cedillo and The Untouchables who immediately made an appearance and spoke with the landlord. It seems this slime bag was renting out the sidewalk next to his building for people to park their vehicles. Well, The Untouchables shut that bullshit down.

This is a losing battle. Happens all over the city and the cops do nothing. It used to be illegal to park your car on the street at night, you had to have an off street parking spot to own a car. Guess what, people just left their cars on the street, so they made it legal. Same thing is going to happen with this too.

The picture in this article looks very similar to the "Crap" built on 163rd Street and Sanford. No lawn and cars parked all over the place !

That is some third world crap! That is miserable! People in Jamaica should be taking care of their properties, not allowing this crap to go on! Kudos to all of those people who are trying to make Jamaica a better place to live! Also kudos to the police who came so quickly and shut this crap down! Let's hope these jerks don't try to do this again!

I of course will keep my eye out on this, but when Sgt. Cedillo and The Untouchables give a warning, believe me, property owners, landlords and auto body shops listen. I have seen them in operation and they have fined several people and businesses, and towed many cars away and these places then tend to clean up their act quick.

More communities need a Sqt Cedillo and The Untouchables.

Accept it, it's the way it's going to be because the people of NYC and queens in particular vote for this. And they always will

Good. Furthermore, it is illegal to park a vehicle within 10 feet of any building, including houses, according to NYC fire code.

I have the same issue in Kew Gardens. The Apt. across from me allows people to park in a small area next to the building. One of them 3 feet directly in front of the apartment building entrance. The problem is that it is at a very busy bus stop and the cars have to drive down the sidewalk to get in and out of the illegal parking spots. It is a blind exit from the spots so people exiting the bus and walking down the sidewalk have to beware. I know I have had to jump back a couple of times due to cars backing out onto the sidewalk. I have complained to many sources included police officers right on the spot and nothing has been done about it.

How do we get an Untouchables squad for Flooshing?

They're heroes in my book!

So everyone who has a car parked in their driveway within ten feet of their garage is breaking the law?

by getting the queens delegation to make this a permanent part of the landscape.

one temp group in one community don't mean squat. go back in two years and its the same.

Let's clean up these once beautiful communities of Queens. Laws need to be followed and enforced. Building codes need to be stricter so ugly sh*t boxes like this are stopped. Each community should have a patrol like the Untouchables to clean this sh*t up.
