Addabbo wants to raise gambling age

From AM-NY:

State Sen. Joseph Addabbo Jr. said Monday he's promoting a push to raise the gambling age to 21 from 18 as part of any legislative effort to legalize full casino gaming in the state.

Resorts World New York, a racino at the Aqueduct Racetrack in Addabbo's district, could one day become a Las Vegas-style casino with Albany's consent.

Addabbo said he wants to raise awareness "to avoid youthful gambling addictions."

Yea because you cant roll dice in the lobby or courtyard unless you're 21. Because you cant play black jack in one of these underground korean establishments if you're not 21. Because you cant go on pokers stars without being 21.

Maspeth MOm says....thats a great idea...it should be 21 across the board...smoking drinking gambling...but I am sure the gambling lobbyists will fight against this,as the earlier your additiction starts the more powerful hold it has on you.

Old enough to serve means old enough to gamble and drink. These puritanical pols are not earning any points with me.

The Nanny State strikes again.

We should also make it 21 to enlist in the military. If you're not responsible enough to drink or gamble, you are not responsible to sign your life away to the government.

And no one in the US can play on pokerstars anymore no matter how old they are.

I want to raise the age for people that can vote for Addabbo so that this silly nanny can be voted out. You can joint the military at 17, btw, if one of your parents consents. Enough said.

Right! Hold your breath.

Let's see, we don't trust people to buy beer or gamble, but they able to vote. Heck the clown from MN wants to reduce voting age to 16.

The founders were right, unless you have a skin in the game, you shouldn't be able to vote.

There was a study published in the paper this week proving binge drinking is most common among the elderly. maybe it should be the other way around, no drinking or gambling for those over 65. Ever notice the average age of those glued to the slot machines in Atlantic City? Our tax dollars pay for those social security checks they are drinking and gambling away.

#7.....spoken like a true QUISLING TRAITOR....

the Norwegian citizens had to stay occupied by Nazi (NATIONAL SOCIALIST DEMOCRATS ) troops for five years 1940-45, during WWll. until the Allied Forces (U.K./U.S./Polish etc. freed them .

Quisling, who was hung, and the Norwegian socialists cut their defense preparation to zero, after WWl.
My American relatives volunteered to save my Norwegian relatives from war mongering totalitarians

NEVER FORGET......
