From the NY Post:
New financial-disclosure forms released yesterday show at least one member of the council, Karen Koslowitz, is double-dipping from the public trough, earning a $122,500 salary as a city lawmaker while collecting her city pension, of at least $60,000 a year.
Koslowitz built up her pension after 23 years on the city payroll, including a decade in the council that ended in 2001 after the arrival of term limits. But she was re-elected to the council in 2009 -- and after getting her pension.
The Democrat also held posts as a former deputy borough president in Queens and as a City Council aide in the 1980s. She declined to comment.

All that with a high school diploma....amazing.
I thought her other job was working at McDonalds as Ronald.
No way!!!!!
That's a woman ?
Yikes! Glad I moved away from Queens.
Her pension should be halted as she is back in an elected position with the city - shame on her. She never is seen in Elmhurst helping us here only in Forest Hills where all her efforts to obtain funds is spent.
Thank's for dropping by the recent St. Saviour's rally in Maspeth....you corrupt old windbag!
Enjoy the photo op?
You haven't done shit yet to get us our park on the site!
Yikes?
She looks more like a dyke!
Hey Speaker Quinn....RU interested?
LOL....it looks like Karen and "Clairol" Chrissy are using the same hair dye.
Well....just mix a double batch and have a snatch to match.
Someone else is enabling Koslowitz in order to allow this to occur. In New York State, anyone who is collecting a civil service, government job-generated pension is not allowed to earn over $30,000 in another government/civil service-type job while collecting that pension. In other words, she's getting away with something that other retired civil servants can't get away with, and it's somehow being overlooked by "the powers that be". Any teacher who is offered a part time teaching job knows this. And that's in New York State, not just in New York City, by the way. Something is VERY rotten in Denmark and should be INVESTIGATED.
It is legal, NYS and NYC law allow her to LEGALLY collect both.
Plus any civil servant who earns a pension, including teacher, who is elected into the council can get both her pension and salary. I don't want to seem rude to the misinformed.
Our issue is that we need these politicians who are gaming the system to change it. As witnessed, the Elected never do anything without something to gain.
this women is usless and waS PUT IN THIS OFFICE, SHE HAD NO PRIMARY, just like simanowitz and the rest of the crew. does anyone ever question why just a "handful" of apartment buildings in forest hills are allowed to control the voters of entire city and state political districts....let her and weiner go hang out somewhere, quite frankly, i'm feeling a little verclemted after all this.
If I am not mistaken, you must get a waiver from the state to legally double-dip.
Police commissioner Ray Kelly is a legal double-dipper.
why is it that the bulk of medicaid fraud takes place in forest hills.. does kosolwitz have an israli spy working in her office as well, it looks like her and ackerman are double dipping, does kosowitz have dual citizenship as well..hmm... would be intresting to know

She's not a civil servant, she's an elected official, there's a huge difference. I'm not saying I like it, but that's the way it works.

So does anyone know why, if a NYC Employee wants to run for the "Part Time" City Council Position, they have to resign?
Conflict of interest, idiot.
as long as the dems. make the laws for their benefit, we suckers in n.y.s. will pay.
these freeloaders then pay back the retired public union members with UNSUSTAINABLE benefits for life, in a tax free state like Florida.
did you know that the N.Y.C. United Federation of Teachers Union has an office in Fla. to serve their retirees.?
IDIOT- She had a primary and had a runoff because it was so close. In her inital primary she only got 25%. She was not put in.
Anon No. 17 -
As long as the Florida office is paid for with their dues, I don't care.
For Anon #1 - I'll have you know that not only does she have a high school diploma, but she also holds a degree from Clown College.
are not the retired teachers dues originally paid for by the taxpayers of n.y.c ?
the photo resembles "THE HOF", while in rehab .
She needs to resign!
We are in a tailspin economy with millions out of work and she's double dipping????!!!!!
Outrageous!
Anon No. 22:
The UFT's dues come out of their salaries. They are not volunteers. What they choose to do with their salaries is their business. For all we know, having an office down there may save them money in administrative costs or save the retirees expenses. If you think this is illegal, get someone to investigate.
Yes. Media will jump on this soon forcing her to leave.
