Aravella all alone now

From the Daily News:

AND THEN there was one.

Democratic Assembly candidate John Ciafone has officially dropped out of the race for the 36th Assembly seat in Queens.

Ciafone is the second Democrat to skip the race for the spot currently held by Michael Gianaris, who is seeking the seat of retiring state Sen. George Onorato.

Last month, lawyer Jeremiah Frei-Pearson said he was stepping out of the three-way contest to avoid a messy primary battle.

Ciafone's decision leaves just one candidate in the race - lawyer Aravella Simotas, who is supported by the Queens Democratic Party.

I think Ciafone is still running on the Republican ticket. He may be just dropping out of the democratic nomination. Don't know why he was running on the democratic side anyway, he's always ran on the republican ticket.

Not reading it that way:

"Ciafone said his campaign was further hobbled by mixed signals from the Independence Party. He had originally expected to run on their line, as well as the Republican line."

I don't remember a time when he did run on the Republican ticket, but in any event, he dropped out to avoid an ugly investigation into his possible voter fraud issues.

Leave it to the scummy Democratic Party to get rid of as many candidates as they can, so their candidate can sail in and continue to fleece their constituents. What ever happened to a fair fight? Why are they so afraid that they have to remove the competition?

How often have the Republicans had primaries?

How often has a Republican beat a Democrat for any office in Astoria?

About as often.

When did John Ciafone run on the Republican line for any position?

Whatever happened to the savior Jeremiah?

Jeremiah Frei Pearsen is going no where quick. Look to see hot shot District leader Costas Constantinides kill him in the 2013Council race to replace Vallone. Costas will have everyones support. He is the real deal.

sounds like the elephants in bayside are running scared. Sorry to give you this news flash, but TABONE will loose again in 2010 like he lost a decade ago in Astoria.

Costas isnt going to run. Just like the open seat for Assembly. he is the errand boy for the Queens party. Costas, go put some quaretrs in the meter. Costas, hold this sign. Costas, sorry you cant run. He is going to be happy having a job and thats how the party controls him. They will make him work like a dog for the enxt 3 years though. What a sucker. This is jeremiahs seat. he has the money, he has the moxie, and he is a good looking guy.

Aravella Simotas is a Gianaris puppet. In no way does she deserve that seat. Other people deserve that seat but they are to afraid to run because all the Queens Dem Party does is threaten and strong arm people. That's the only way they can win. See what happened in Bayside, the people of the area didn't give in to the Vallone name and kept Paulie out. Lots of these people are Astoria transplants that were sick and tired of Astoria Vallone politics.
