Spate of crime in LIC
From LiQCity:
It has come to liQcity’s attention through multiple local tipsters that there’s been a bunch of recent muggings in the Hunters Point area, especially near the waterfront, that have apparently gone unreported through the local police. The buzz is:
* A woman was mugged on Friday evening around 11pm at 47th Rd & Vernon Blvd. She was struck from behind and robbed of her possessions, including her coat. She was also denied the ability to file a police report with the 108th precinct, since she did not have ID on her. (direct from woman attacked)
Makes sense. There are other unreported crimes detailed if you click the link. I thought it was safe there now because it was gentrified. Or that's the bill of goods we've been sold by the real estate industry, anyway.

RICH PEOPLE...have money in their wallets....easy targets walking home late at night especially if you need to work 60+ hours a week to pay for your LUXZURY Kondo.
Just another unintended consequence of high home prices.
It must be handled the same way the 'George N Jerry Show' handles prostitution so developers will flock to DK like flies to shit.
Ya don't mention it and it goes away.
this is in all the neighborhoods, not just LIC. imagine having your purse robbed and cops demanding ID, as if the victim was the criminal?
these tactics are done to make less work for the cops and make their bosses look like they are doing something.
there is a cop, story I think is on QC, who is being harassed for going public about the crime cover up tactics.
the NYPD are brainless twits - they don't take reports on the Upper East Side either - but Bloomturd says crime is down. Did you hear, though, that a twelve year old girl was handcuffed for doodling? Rampant REAL crime and the stupid cops cuff a kid for doodling. The teacher and principal are morons too. At least that girl would write. Many NYC kids can't read or write at all.
1800-PRIDEPD.If a cop refuses to take (a legitimate) report, let him/her know you'll be calling iab.
