Paterson will not run or step down

From the Daily News:

A beleaguered Gov. Paterson has pulled the plug on his election bid, a source close to the governor said Friday.

He will announce the decision later Friday.

Paterson been under fire for contacting a woman who accused one of his top aides of domestic violence.

The source said the governor has agreed not to seek election, but he will not resign - opting to serve out the remainder of his term.

The decision clears the way for Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, who is the favorite of many Democrats, to seek the nomination unimpeded.

Enough of the Democratic Machine

Sounds like someone has the goods on him. I wonder what he is guilty of. Dump the Democrats! I'm for Lazio. Let's get out the vote. Cuomo was semi-responsible for our housing and mortgage fiasco when he was the head of HUD. I sure don't want him as our governor.

1010 wins announced he won't run but I was hoping he was announcing his resignation.

Thanks to the Queen Crap commentor that came up with Amanda The People's Burden...I use it.

Now the media can focus on more important things, like Andrew Cuomo's sex life.

Cuomo II as Governor is a death sentence and final nail in the coffin for NY.

I was hope he would push on spending all the little cash he had and listening to the jokes of words he would use to convince us that he belongs. Of course he would hang in there like a bad penny and his opponent would expend some money and personal effort that would enable the other part to get their acts together?? Yeah right, both parties have exhausted the voters thought on them, NY is a classic "Hi I am Charlie Rangle and I am going to redistribute your wealth into my pocket" type place where there is nothing left - drained.

Let's give Richard Ravitch a chance. Two consecutive unelected governors -- would that be some sort of record?

Despite Paterson's pronouncement that he will be in office for the remaining 308 days of his term, I'm betting that he will resign. (What's the over/under?) His bravado means nothing, as evidenced by his firm declaration until Friday that he would be running for reelection in November, and his insistence that he is innocent of ever abusing the power of his office. Governor Ravitch is just around the corner.

Yeah, would love to learn about the menage a trois with him, Fannie and Freddie. Fannie only asked for 15 billion today.

So it looks like we have less effect government overall, with folks sitting on their hands, while others are now preoccupied with investigations and still others resigning that should have remained in place.

You and I pay for this and the upcoming gridlock will suffer meaning you and I will because of a couple of dim lights running the show. Yes Spitzer gave us Patterson and you know where Spitzer went back to being the Billionaire developer's son.

So the scenerio is another rich Developer unelected of course, is waiting in the wings ready to plunder some more and waste time until the November election takes place. Perhaps Cuomo will become Gov and muck things up even more so than his pathetic Dad did. So expect to pay much higher taxes, see the remaining businesses leave NYC and a rise in crime and huge jump in welfare entitlements for the new immigrants and illegals who are now joining us.
