Forest Hills is still one of the nicer parts of Queens to live in.

"Concourse, 71st-Continental Avenue IND subway. Signage was more direct and to the point in the 1930s; if public toilets were still open in the subways the signage would likely show stylized male/female silhouettes."

Actually, those toilets are still in use by the public.

Forest Hills is a fine nabe, but its subway station needs a makeover.

I get off at 75th, but have had to make emergency stops (after nights of drinking) to the bathroom. If you want to see some real throwback fixtures, you GOTTA look in the Women's bathroom. The toilet walls are ... I don't know how to describe them. But Kevin needs to get a pic for his next update.

Is there a subway station in NYC that doesn't need a makeover (besides the new IRT South Ferry station)?

Yeah, by the local bums to wash themselves.
