Swine flu likely to come back with a vengeance

Buried in the news... An otherwise healthy 27-year old police officer recently died from swine flu. Getting scarier...

From the Daily News:

The chief of the hospitals hardest hit by swine flu accused the state Health Department Monday of failing miserably to help prepare for the return of the virus.

"The swine flu is our own Hurricane Katrina and we're getting no help whatsoever," said David Rosen, head of the MediSys Health Network, which runs Jamaica, Flushing and Peninsula hospitals in Queens and Brookdale University Hospital in Brooklyn.

"You might think that somebody would help us, but we're a week away from schools reopening and there's been no discussion," he said. "I haven't got any phone calls."

Jamaica Hospital was at the bull's-eye of the swine flu outbreak earlier this year, Rosen said. More than 1,100 people showed up with flulike symptoms in May, compared with just over 100 in May 2008.

"We had the experience where 663 people showed up in one day without so much as a call from the Health Department, and I've got a problem with that," Rosen said.

"Given our circumstances, this is a ticking bomb," he said. "You've got all these potential bumps in the road and no sense that anyone is on top of it."

Hospitals all over the city are gearing up for a fall resurgence of the virus, which has killed 47 New Yorkers. A report released by the White House last week suggested half the country could get sick with swine flu this fall and 90,000 could die.

Well, the hospitals are bracing for it. And the schools are giving out shots.

A "healthy cop" dies from swine flu?

Healthy, dies of a flu? Healthy? Paradox/riddle/conumdrum much?

I think that they meant to say that he had no underlying respiratory or heart conditions prior to his infection with this illness. Perhaps they should have used the phrase, "Otherwise healthy."

Look we have been hearing that the flu is generally mild in young people because their immune systems are healthy. No one died at St. Francis Prep. According to his family, this man had no conditions that would have caused him to be more susceptible to the swine flu. We have heard this from other victims' families as well. So the point is that this virus is probably mutating and becoming more virulent and telling people not to worry anymore just won't cut it.

Maybe it'll claim that pig Bloomberg...heh, heh, heh!

Also, you should be scared about the Avian flu. And killer bees.

It's always the thing you don't expect that gets you in the end. Instead of using the Obama "Stimulus" money for Boondoggles, we should be staffing up our hospitals.

You people should 'educate before you vaccinate' there are far worse more dangerous poisens in the vaccines. Let the flu brun its course and take its victims. The New World Order has a plan to decrease the population in the vaccines. Wake Up! the flu is man made in a lab. Do your homework and quit crying in your beer about 1 life when the vaccines are about to wipe US out dummies....

What the F? You make as much sense as Bloomtard's economic plan. Ever hear of grammar and spelling? For example, it's speech not speach!!! Perhaps you should try to help yourself before turning your thoughts on others. However, it's nice to know that you care.

By the way, the contributor who mentioned the New World Order is on to something and perhaps others should wake up and do their homework. The things that you find will shock and surprise you! The science behind global warming is a myth but is being brought to you by the same folks pushing the vaccines. Start there and begin digging.

H1N1 Swine Flu Updates said...

Swine Flu can definitely (and probably will) mutate. THAT is why we should be concerned and careful. It is cases like this one that should open some eyes -- this H1N1 virus will not "run its course" as the exact same illness throughout.

If the above link to the Post Chronicle article doesn't work, the title is "Why Won't Healthcare Workers Take The Swine Flu Vaccine?"
by Rachel Friedman or add .shtm to the address.

Vaccination was discovered in George Washington's day when cowpox, a virus related to smallpox was found to confer immunity on milkmaids.

The 1918 Spanish Flu pandemic took the lives of millions worldwide, all without any suggestion of a "New World Order."

Both the flu and vaccines are old stories. If the paranoid want to suggest that the flu is just jim dandy and go without their shots, they are welcome to it.

In 1976, there was a swine flu outbreak, and more people died from the vaccine for it than from the flu.
