NY1 confirms Crowley sold Maspeth out

From NY1:

"In a vote of 38-to-10, City Council members on Thursday approved a proposal by the Department of Education to build a new high school in Maspeth...Earlier we reported that Councilmember Elizabeth Crowley, whose district the proposed school would be built in was expected to vote no on the measure, but she did not ask fellow council members to vote no with her."

And from the speech she gave to the land use committee:

I’d like to also thank my colleagues in this body, your knowledge and advice has been invaluable and I am grateful for your support.

I am voting No. Let me clear, I want a school in Maspeth, but I cannot agree with this plan.

In an effort to alleviate the traffic and transit concerns raised by community I asked the Department of Education to compromise on a plan to allow this school to better address the needs and concerns of my community. They did not and as I result I do not support this plan.

As the plan stands now it does not have the approval of the community education council, it does not have the approval of the community board, it does not have the approval of the local civic association. It does not have the full support of local parents. It does not have the support of the local elected officials.

Notice that nowhere in this statement does Liz ask her colleagues to vote no with her.

Liz, you're as useful as tits on a bull. And you're fucking history.

Whoa...a pol a liar?

You mean there might actually be an honest one out there?

Doubtful!

Liz is just a clubhouse gal doin' the horizontal mambo with anyone who'll push her up another wrung on the political ladder of SUCK-sess!

My bull would love to see her tits.

Her political career is soooo over! No one will vote for her in November. She's toast! Time to scan the community for a viable candidate to run against her. Anyone??????

Anonymous said...

I'd still vote for her sorry ass if Anthony Como is the other choice. That's a sickening statement.

Linda said...

wow, liz want the shovel now? why didn't you ask? how can you show your face in the community? I thought it was bad that you didn't stand up and stop Mr. Barron with his rude remarks, but this topped it.

MYTH
Her political career is soooo over! No one will vote for her in November. She's toast!

REALITY

First Elder Sweet Thing: Did so see her in the paper? She was going up to Albany again to fight to governor. Did you hear? He wants to close the center again.

Second Elder Sweet Thing: Oh what a wonderful girl! I remember when she came over to the center last fall. It was in all the papers. She asked to see a picture of my great grandchildren!

I hope she gets in again to keep our funding.

Third Elder Sweet Thing: My neighbors got upset with her - something about a school.

Fourth Elder Sweet Thing: Well you known how they are, always fighting about something. I'm too tired to care about all that.

Its just nice to get together with you girls every week for crafts.

First Elder Sweet Thing: I agree. All that shouting about it just gives me a headache. I don't even think the Republicans are even running someone.

Second Elder Sweet Thing: Don't worry girls. No one will run against her. She's a Crowley you know. I knew her uncle.

Such nice people.

etc

etc

etc

They may like Liz. But they LOVE Tony.

Any politician who goes to a senior center with cookies or cake is assured a vote from the old folks. They are so excited because nobody gives them anything. Word to the next person who decides to run against Crowley -- start campaigning today. Let these seniors know you have their backs and will advocate for them. The only time politicians pay attention to the old people is when they want their votes. Wise up and pay attention to them NOW!

Anonymous said...

The unions will support her because she is in their pocket. You Crap supporters and the JPCA leaders wanted her, and now you all have her.

Anonymous said...

JPCA never endorsed Crowley. This site never endorsed Crowley. And Como was involved in this school project as well and is just as guilty.

linda said...

I can't believe you would use the seniors as a way to express how you would think a vote would go. First I don't think seniors are dumb, as your putting it and I find that very insulting for them. Seniors in Maspeth and Middle Village are the ones that came out strong and went to the city council, didn't see that many young families that claim now that they are opposed to the school. Myself and some and not many were the younger generation. So if for some mircle we can still have a fight on this topic, please join us, nothing is over until you see the excavators there knocking the shit down. Oh and I'm very PRO UNION! and my family has always been in unions. I mean the real ones, not the UTF. which she has backing from. I also believe there can be someone in our communities worth the investment to get Liz out and start new. So someone please come forward and you'll have the support, just don't lie...

Anonymous said...

Sounds like Linda would be a perfect advocate for the community? Linda - are you interested in running? I'm sure lots of people around here would help you with your campaign.

Linda said...

Wow a friend of mine keeps asking the same question and actually said he would do a fund raiser for me. I am very compassionate about my community and the seniors. I have lived here almost 23 years and it would break my heart to move. But I don't have the experience, but I do have the mouth, as you all can see. When I went to city council I couldn't believe the people sitting up in front of me get six figure salaries. Thank you, but I think our District needs someone with a little more experience than me.

This is my third (# 3) announcement that I'm running against her.

Who's listening?

Anonymous said...

I'm listening. Who are you? State your name so I can start gathering people to help you with your campaign. Whoever you are, if you are serious, I'm sure the community will have your back and will help you.

I'm glad I don't have that job! Como is just as guilty!!! Did Liu or Katz vote against the school?? Hummmm, make sure you vote for them!!

Hey why did NY1 yank this story from their website? Did they get a phone call?

maybe it wasnt on NY1 to begin with. Check your sources crappy!

google is your source...wonderful...great job..LOL

Queens Crapper said...

Nope, my source was NY1. Here's a mail link for the story.

Hundreds of people watched the video after it was linked to so there's no use denying it was there.

I work in the newsroom. It was not your imagination that there was a story about this on the air which used information obtained from other councilmembers. A couple of hours after this post appeared on your site highlighting the inaction by Ms. Crowley, my boss received a phone call from an irate Joe Crowley. The on-air report and the website report were both pulled. But the station is not issuing a retraction.

Anonymous said...

Eric Ulrich was the one who got the other two Republican council members to vote no on this. Crowley wasn't.

Start organizing the help. Get people ready.

The mission is simple: To give the residents of CD 30 honest, intelligent representation in the City Council.

This taxpayer will ALWAYS remember who pays the bills.

I am so fxxking upset this morning! we live in AMERICA people and we have the right to broadcast and express our opinions.liz did nothing to protect our community, instead of her focus on making it local, you should of pushed an alternative site. hey liz where is the enviormental report that you didn't share with the three communities, you claim to care so much for. ny 1 should not BULLIED BY UNCLE JOE, HEY JOE DO YOU LIKE LOOKING LIKE AN IDIOT BECAUSE OF YOUR NIECE. NY 1 ARE YOU AFRAID OF JOE? AIR THE DAMN SHOW AND SHOW YOU HAVE SOME BALLS ALREADY. It's time for change we need to start cleaning up house. oh and to who ever is posting comments that linda is jake, james or como, hell NO it's linda of maspeth, so please stop the bull shit already. if you don't like what your reading then just go fxxking away already.

Anonymous said...

I guess the government really does control the media in this city.

Anonymous said...

Actually, Liz is not Joe's niece, but her cousin. Regardless, he also does diddly squat and sells out the neighborhood whenever he gets a chance to.

Anonymous said...

"Liz is just a clubhouse gal doin' the horizontal mambo with anyone who'll push her up another wrung on the political ladder of SUCK-sess!"

True, she did McLaughlin. She also did some dude in a car by the park one night and got caught by the police (her husband was a cop and her cousin a congressman so it got squashed) and that is what ended her marriage and started her career in politics. Also ask yourself in this day and age what kind of educated person pumps out 2 kids before they turn 20.

Anonymous said...

Oooh oooh I know! W.T.

linda said...

cousin, oops sorry now you can tell i really don't give a crap about the crowley family. time for change she needs to get the hell out. and i really hope someone comes forward to push that loser out of council.

Anonymous said...

All this Liz Crowley talk got me interested. I read she is 31? Which immediately made me question when in the world did she have those kids. If that's true about her extra marital stuff that's pretty funny. But that's usually what happens when you get married too young. She also has a master's in planning and a bachelor's in preservation? Doesn't seem like she's preserving her district at all. Maybe the job is way over her head.

linda said...

lmao, thank you italian girl, someone with a brain. liz is so dumb and i really don't recall how she talked us into voting for her, what the hell were we thinking, but it's ok now she'll be thrown out.

well here's ny1 phone number and please feel free to call them and tell them to put back the story on the website.

i can't believe ny1 has no balls
212-379-3311 thanks

Hey she can deny this is what happened all she wants. The fact is she mailed this speech out to the media and it did not ask for her fellow council members to vote no. So she is hung by her own statement:

Remarks by Council Member Elizabeth S. Crowley – As Prepared for the 2 April 2009 Stated Meeting on Land Use 1031 and Resolution 1913

I believe the HS proposal we’re voting on today still needs work. As a council member it has been difficult accepting and agreeing on the Dept of Education’s policies, but I must thank Speaker Quinn for her continued hard work and support as I have worked through the difficulties associated with this proposal.

And while I do not agree with Deputy Mayor Walcott and the Dept of Education policies moreover their reluctance to give priority zoning to those who live closest to the school I do thank Deputy Mayor Walcott for his and the department’s focus over the past month on the Maspeth HS project.

It does not have the full support of local parents. It does not have the support of the local elected officials.

Anonymous said...

blah blah blah that's all i read into this. what liz is really trying to say is : hey quinn do you approve of the way i handled this and fucked maspeth? they are all so full of shit. liz could of stopped this and she didn't. she needs to be removed from city council.

LINDA said...

HEY NEW YORK 1 GET SOME BALLS AND PUT BACK THE REPORT DON'T ALLOW THE CROWLEY'S TO BULLY YOU. WE ALL WATCH YOUR SHOW AND YOU ARE HEAR FOR THE PEOPLE, RIGHT? SO IF YOU SUPPORT US PUT IT BACK ON NOW!

Hey why hasn't the mayor step up for our towns that he claims to love and pull the plug on this school projet, he knows they were given alternative sites and he should be asking to see a report on the impact. also has anyone brought up the fact that radation towers are across the street of the site??? please let us know who we can call to stop this now.

Taxpayer said...

"Liz picked a great location for her office - Tony will be able to roll out of bed and be at his job !"

Don't fret over Tubby Tony rolling out of bed into an office.

I plan to relocate to another, far more convenient location for the constituents.

They pay all the bills. So they get to find their representative easily. And, then get actual representation.

Whooo! How will that be? Constituents getting what they pay for? They're the employers. They're the boss.

No other tax paid employee will ever direct or control my vote or actions. Not the Mayor (who will no longer be the Commissar; he'll be long forgotten). Not the speaker; not the unions; not the developers. NEVER the UFT!!!

Only the special interests. Those citizens who pay taxes and vote.

The Tony that's going to win lives in Maspeth. So he can't roll out of bed and be at this location.

OK, so another Tony may occupy that office - But anyone could do a better job than our incumbent - including any of the last three Councilmen... Did we get sold out !

Anonymous said...

Interesting that you say a Tony from Maspeth will be in the NYC council seat come November. If you mean Tony Nunziato, it seems that he received donations from Sano Demolition, who was hired by the St Saviours owners to demolish the church? Wasn't he very outspoken concerning this topic? Basically he accepted money from an organization that benefited from the destruction of St. Saviours.

lloyd sleeper has a nervous conditon, saw it at the council meeting. he kept jumping around like a jester. god i can't wait till he's gone too, so young and a lot to learn. don't fuk with the old ones sonny.......

Christina Wilkinson said...

Tony received $100 from Sano Construction, who was the contractor who took the church apart for us so it could be put in storage. I donated $700 to Tony's campaign.

Let's recall who it was that advocated for housing at the St. Saviour's site while the community was asking for a park and hired the Parkside Group to run her campaign, who was also the developer's lobbyist. Oh yeah, that was Liz Crowley.

I haven't forgotten, Liz. And I also noticed you haven't pushed at all for a park at the site since you've been elected. A shame considering you ran as the environmentally-friendly candidate who wants more parks in CD30.

Anonymous said...

LIZ CROWLEY HAS TURNED HER BACK ON MASPETH. MANY OF US WHO LIVE AROUND SAINT SAVIORS WOULD VERY MUCH LIKE A PARK. I VOTED FOR HER BUT SHE'S DONE NOTHING EXCEPT DUMP ON US.

Linda said...

liz is an idiot, saw her at a meeting tonight and not one word mentioned about the H.S. i think she's praying that we will just go away. hell NO if there is a slim chance of stopping this we should continue the fight and that means everyone needs to come out blazing. Maspeth community has to show up entirely, young and old.
