9/11 plaque stolen from Greenpoint church

A shameless thief stole a 9/11 memorial plaque from a Greenpoint church last week, leaving outraged parishioners praying for answers.

The brass and copper plaque bore the names of three St. Cecilia's Catholic Church parishioners who died in the September 11 terrorist attacks seven years ago.

St. Cecilia's pastor, The Rev. James Krische, said a World War II memorial plaque also disappeared from a nearby park triangle last weekend.

"It seems that a team swept the neighborhood," he said.
