From the Queens Courier, April 9, 2008:
Andrew Barnes has served as the Queens Borough Director of the Mayor’s Community Affairs Unit (CAU) since December of 2007.
Word of Mr. Barnes' appointment apparently hasn't been sent over to the city hall webmaster yet. Why is the (unintentionally hilarious) bio of one Queens CAU rep on the city's website but the other is not? We'd really like to get to know the guy.

Jennifer Manley is one of two Queens Borough Directors for the Community Affairs Unit. She is a native of Nottingham, NH, and a product of the Vermont State College System, having graduated with a degree in Journalism, Creative Writing, and Literature from Lyndon State College in May of 2001.
CREATIVE WRITING - GOOD FOR PUSHING DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS ON TO COMMUNITY BOARDS.
GLAD SHE IS A NATIVE WITH A GOOD FEEL FOR URBAN LIFE.
After a four-year stint with a private fire and explosion investigation firm,
THAT FIRE AND EXPLOSION BACKGROUND SHOULD MAKE YOU NONCHALANT IN DISCUSSING THE LATEST BUILDING COLLAPSE AND CONSTRUCTION DISASTER.
Ms. Manley made the move to New York City, landing in Woodside, Queens, and has yet to tear herself away from the most diverse county in the country.
WHAT? AND MISS THE RATS EATING CHICKEN BONES AND RICE ON YOUR SIDEWALK, THUGS PLAYING CARDS ON YOUR FRONT STOOP AT 3 PM, LONG LINES OF LOSERS BUYING LOTTO TICKETS AT YOUR LOCAL BODEGA (THAT HAS STALE MILK BECAUSE THEY TURN THE FREEZERS OFF AT NITE) AND WIDE CHOICE OF 99 CENT STORES?
OH GIVE IT A TRY SWEETIE. CRICKETS, THE STARS AT NIGHT, THE SMELL OF FRESHLY CUT GRASS, A LITTLE GARDEN IN THE BACK.
YOU KNOW, THE STUFF FROM YOUR OWN BACKGROUND THAT QUALIFIES YOU TO TALK DOWN TO ARCHIE BUNKERS.
She spent two years working as a reporter and editor at the Queens Chronicle, learning the people and places of Queens as well as the many opportunities and challenges facing the borough she now works on with CAU.
THERE WAS SOMETHING ABOUT THIS GIRL THAT TURNED ON ACTIVIST RADARS ALL OVER THE BORO -- WHICH IS ONE OF THE REASONS THAT NO ONE TRUSTED HER OR WORKED WITH HER WHEN SHE CALLED FOR A STORY.
She has a particular passion for the arts and welcomes the chance to nourish the dynamic art culture of the borough.
AH OH, ALL WE NEED IS ANOTHER TERRI O.
Ms. Manley is honored to be working with the people of Queens.
SO EASILY DUPED - SO PASSIVE - SO YOU KNOW, ARCHIE BUNKER.
HELL, YOU CAN DO ANYTHING OR SAY ANTHING TO THESE PEOPLE AND NO ONE IN THE PRESS WIL BLOW THE WHISTLE
YOU CAN GO FAR HERE GIRL.
YOU HAVE A NICE FUTURE AHEAD OF YOU.
You know what - you don't want to get to know the guy. He made a very nice presentation at one of the meetings at my civic association. However, he failed to return phone calls and e-mails. He's no different than the rest of them.
As soon as you have any concerns about zoning or illegal construction, the city goes deaf, dumb and blind.
Let's have a count .... we've seen him just once at my community board.
smug negro
"smug negro"
your a smug idiot
i've met him and he seems to be a really nice guy
He's not bad looking.
CAU's are good for nothing. They yes you to death, don't reply to letters or phone calls. And they are usually `away from there desk at the moment'. Get rid of all the useless CAU's and save the taxpayers some money!
