Five historic buildings in Flushing — some not generally open to the public — will take part in the annual holiday house tour on Sunday, Dec. 9 from 1-5 p.m.
Participants will be able to ride a free trolley or walk from site to site. Tickets can be purchased on Dec. 9 at any of the locations. The price is $10 for adults and $5 for children under 12.
It's really a tour of the sacred cows of preservation..... the sites that are still standing.
Somebody should do a tour of Flushing's demolished historic building sites and, perhaps, lay a wreath at each piece of "developed" real estate that replaced it.
They'd far outnumber what's left standing.
Instead of the usual hot mulled cider..... bitter gall should be served up cold by the historical society for this kind of tour!

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap
"The difference between dishonest and honest graft: for dishonest graft one worked solely for one's own interests, while for honest graft one pursued the interests of one's party, one's state, and one's personal interests all together." - George Washington Plunkitt
