COVID vaccine stadium sites strike out

 NY Post

Plans to convert Yankee Stadium and Citi Field into large-scale coronavirus vaccination sites have officially been postponed indefinitely — while 15 existing city inoculation hubs will remain closed as New York continues to struggle with a supply shortage, officials said Monday.

The setbacks are the latest blows to New York’s problem-plagued vaccine rollout, most recently hampered by a lagging supply of shots from the federal government and manufacturer Moderna — forcing the city to reschedule tens of thousands of appointments when it became clear there weren’t enough jabs on hand.

“We want to get those to be full-blown, 24-hour operations but we don’t have the vaccine,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said of Yankee Stadium and Citi Field during a Monday press briefing.

Hizzoner did not establish a new opening date for the venues, instead saying it was tied to when the city receives ample vaccine supplies to support the operations.

Biden is completely failing as a president. He campaigned on being able to handle the virus better than Trump, but he has done nothing to improve the situation, and we are now running out of vaccines. How many people are going to die because of his incompetence in handling this situation?

Got it. Is called the Great Reset. Remember 2008 when they stole all the monies?
Now they will take care of the 50+ crowd, no social Security for them!
Fake Virus, Fake Elections, Fake Everything!

@ anon 1 "he campaigned on being able to handle the virus better than trump" and thus far he has. Just the mask mandate alone has done more to "handle" the virus as you put it than trump did all last year. Biden has also been president for less than a week at this point, so its comes across as pretty disingenuous to say something like that.

@ Anon 2 If you think this is "just the sniffles" I hear that there are plenty of covid wards that need volunteers. Go do something good for a change. Seriously though, we had more deaths this past year than we had in all of WWII combined. If you think that our economy can handle a 1-2% mortality rate, and then 15-20% of citizens having debilitating long term effects you are sadly mistaken. You should count yourself lucky that you have clearly not been hit hard by this, because it shows.

Good thing he took more jobs away. The lockdowns took some but not enough to kill the economy all the way yet I guess.

He's had much more than a week. He claimed victory right after the election, which is over 2 months to plan and prepare for how he would respsond, which should be implemented on day one of his presidency. According to you the big response by Biden is a mask mandate? Umm we were already told to wear masks, so that is pretty much useless.

Under Trump we were getting more vaccines a week then we currently are under Biden. Once Biden got in we got a lot less, and there is now even more of a shortage. Every week the amount of vaccines should be, at a minimum, the same, or increasing over the previous week. The total number delivered should not be going down. So yes I'd call Biden a complete failure.

Interesting to compare the medical distribution network with previous decades.

Shambles. Chaos. No focus. Third World.

Whatever you want to say about White People they get the work done.

No doubt Trump is to blame for this.
So the usual suspects would say.

Biden was too busy killing jobs on day one

Yeah man! He’s been president more than a week now. Why hasn’t he fixed this yet?
