Moldy Sandy foreclosure still not cleaned up

From CBS2:

A Queens family is still trying to recover from Superstorm Sandy.

As CBS2’s Hazel Sanchez reported, cancer survivor Joyce Zoller said she’s devastated after being ordered by her doctors and attorneys to move from her Queens home to Florida.

Not because her house is unsafe, but because she said the abandoned home next door is hazardous to her health.

“The mold, the smell, the vermin inside, birds flying all over, it’s a disaster,” said Zoller. “I don’t know how much more I can take. It’s my home and I can’t even live in my own home.”

CBS2 met with the Zollers in June of 2014 and learned their neighbor at 145-08 Neponsit Ave. had abandoned the property after Superstorm Sandy.

Black mold had been growing inside the home.

City records show HSBC Mortgage took ownership after it went into foreclosure, but as owners did nothing to clean up the mold.

A Department of Buildings inspector stopped by the house Thursday morning, slapping HSBC with another violation for failing to maintain the building, Sanchez reported.

HSBC has been issued multiple building code violations since Superstorm Sandy and faces more than $20,000 in fines.

Ah, HSBC, the terrorist and druglord money laundering institution. Don't you know they are still struggling after Eric Holder slapped them on the wrist with a slight fine for their treasonous deeds, so how can they find the time and money to get rid of some toxic blight next to a city-approved expendable resident in dull unhip Neponist in Rockaway (maybe if there was a dive that sold fish tacos and artisan beers down the block maybe the city could have pressured that evil bank to demolish it).

Let's hope that fucking bank will reimburse her for moving expenses. It's the least they could do since no one involved in their prior and current illegal actions will never feel the pinch of handcuffs and the stench and darkness of a cell.

It will be auctioned, bull dozed and replaced with a McMansion.
Or someone will get a hell of a deal, spray some bleach, spread out rat poison and live happily ever after.

Sounds like they needed an excuse to retire to Florida and maybe make a lot of money along the way.

There always has been and always will be mold.
The only difference is that the lawyers found out about the new "black gold".
There always has been and always will be rats.

Any reimbursements or damages will never be seen.

Even if this is legit, the only winners will be the stinking lawyers.

"birds all over" it is by seashore for goodness sake!
They don't have birds in Florida?
Do we want to kill the birds?
I know they have alligators in Florida (and alligators eat rats).
I rather deal with a rat than an alligators - but that's just me.
"ordered by her doctors and attorneys to move from her Queens home to Florida."
Must be one hell of a lawyer - an expert in black mold medical issues.
The mold must be pretty bad if you are ORDERED to move 1000 miles away.
I guess it makes for a better lawsuit.
I hope none of the "birds all over" aren't migratory and bring the black mold to their new abode.
IMHO it is all bull...
