Woman found dead at Kissena Park

From CBS 2:

A woman was found dead with slash wounds to her body in Kissena Park in Queens Sunday afternoon, police said.

The NYPD was called at 2:52 p.m. for a report of an unconscious person at Colden Street and Laburnum Avenue in Queens, police said.

Responding officers wound the woman unresponsive at the scene with slash wounds to the neck and abdomen, police said.

Where were the Parks Enforment Officers? Sleeping again I presume.

Kissena Corridor Park, actually. Very different park.

Kissena Park is to the east of Kissena Boulevard to 164th Street, from Rose/Oak avenues to Booth Memorial Avenue.

Isn't anyone distributed by the fact that this is 2 blocks away from a middle school?

From NYC Parks: "Although it is composed of two different parts, it is considered a whole, as its sections form a continuous green space together with Kissena Park." I'm glad we're focusing on semantics instead of on the fact that a woman was found dead.

This sounds like a real war on woman.
When men and woman are prevented from exercising their Constitutional right to self preservation, & protection.
The person who cut her up had a lead deficiency.

Parks are public spaces. Anyone can use them. That is the problem.
Without protection, which will never be adequate enough, parks are dangerous.
Even the elite Central Park, with its conservancy as a watch dog, people are still in danger there.

Why no description of the deceased by the news?
This would help a friend or relative identify her. Or a member of the public that may have seen her before the homicide. So far I have not seen any description of the victims age, race, weight, height, hair color/length, clothing worn or any description other than her gender.

If they need help identifying her, they will release that info. More likely, they know who she is and they are withholding details until the family is notified.

If we had a right to carry a concealed firearm that poor woman may still be alive. But NYC obviously feels the 2nd amendment can just be omitted. The people need to speak up and claim their rights!!!

You're assuming she was killed in the park instead of dumped there.

Found in the middle of the day. They likely have a very good idea who did this/who they are looking for. If it was a random attack they would have flooded the area with cops. I would think the general population was only at its baseline risk of assault/murder with this case.

You're also assuming she was killed by someone she didn't know.

Maybe they should ask the woman walking her dog is she saw something? I am not a police officer but wouldn't that make sense?

Anon no. 10: Who says that she wasn't? We're you a witness? Just because you're carrying a weapon, it doesn't mean that you'll be able to use it. Dream on.

Is there any place in Queens that isn't a few blocks away from a school?

Odds are she was Asian.

One description I read said that she was gutted. Maybe that wouldn't make for a good photo of her.

Anon no 3: I've never been distributed by a fact. Tell us what that's like.

Inspector Gadget- if the police were having issues identifying the victim they would have released a description. Something tells me they don't need our help. There's generally a reason details are left out.

Ben Carson chimes in.

What makes people think that if someone is armed no one would attack. Ever heard of the element of surprise. Maybe this will sound outlandish but our military is armed and we occupied Iraq and Afghanistan for decades at the cost of billions and that did not deter the insurgents.

People need to be more aware of their surroundings, especially in serene settings in the park. Rape, murders and robberies have gone up the most near parks and crime is creeping up again, despite the boisterous claims and creative statistics coming from Bratton and Billy Willy. Someone here mentioned central park and I like to point out that there is a huge police station in the middle of the park on the 86st two way crosstown road.

This homicide kind of looks like the work of a serial killer. But it's probably a crazy derelict considering that the scene was near a soup kitchen. A walk in the park points out that a homeless person found her and not the cops as the ap article stated.

“Who are they? Are they these extreme conservatives who are right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay? Is that who they are? Because if that’s who they are and if they are the extreme conservatives, they have no place in the state of New York, because that’s not who New Yorkers are.” Mario Cuomo

If you believe in the right to protect your family and yourself,
If you believe in the right of a baby to live,
If you believe in the traditional definition of marriage (5000+years),
Then MARIO says GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE - YOU ONLY HAVE THE RIGHTS THAT I SAY YOU MAY HAVE...

hmmmm - we lost two congressional seats, maybe some are listening.

Yet if you are Ron Kuby, Howard Stern, John J. Mack, the chairman of Morgan Stanley, J Lo's hubby Singer Marc Anthony, Robert De Niro, supermarket mogul John Catsimatidis, Donald Trump and his son Donald Jr.; celebrity lawyer David Breitbart, and artificial-heart inventor Robert Jarvik then it is OK to protect your family and self. They probably donated to Mario's election. Imagine that.

For the rest of us subjects and peasants, when seconds count the police are only several minutes away.

Double standard???

You know something about this case that the police don't? You have a list of all the people they did and didn't interview?

The name of the victim is Qing Qing Kiemde, she was 28 years old.

I thought andre Cuomo said that crap.

Anyway, I grew up near there and remember when from the soccer field to Colden field was nothing but swamp/weeds/marsh, with the old Kissena creek running underneath in pipes. Fun for kids.

New York City is a GUN FREE ZONE - We are just lambs waiting to be slaughtered. Famed self-defense guru Massad Ayoob has referred to “gun free zones” as hunting preserves for psychopathic murders.

Thank You anon, I sit corrected.

Yes, it was Anthony, not Mario.

Same "crap" different years.

Regardless, it is just disgusting that a supposed practicing Catholic Governor of a state would say such a thing...

If you look at the street view under google earth there is a woman walking her dog right at the intersection.

It was a joke.

Simmer down, crazy.

No one cares: The wrong victim. The wrong weapon. Nothing to blame on NYPD. Forgotten in 6 hours.

Anon, you are correct, another poor soul forgotten by most.
I pray for her, and I imagine that there are many prayers for the family and friends of this poor lady!

The POTUS made a special trip to Oregon for the victims in the gun free school so he could "politicize" this incident (his words, not mine - see the link), and get gun laws instituted just like in the Windy City. The bodies were not even cold, and he was already calling for the same measures that the state of Oregon had in place already. Those measures did not help prevent anything!

http://www.msnbc.com/the-last-word/watch/pres.-obama---we-should-politicize--shootings-536969795656

Yet he says NOTHING about the more than 2,000 victims in his wonderful gun free zone of Chicago.
Realize that Chicago is one quarter the population of New York with more murders and violent crime. It has the strictest gun control laws of the Unites States. If we were to take Chicago, LA, DC, and Detroit (all with strict gun control) out of the stats, the United States would have a much lower crime stat. Something to think about...
