Guy blames dogs for being a squatter

From WPIX:

I’ve never met a squatter like Michael Lindner.

For years, Lindner rented from Lena and Bill Sakirsky in Bayside. They decided to sell their rental property and thought they’d seen the last of their old problem tenant after they paid him to leave by July 1st.

“He got the money, $12,000 for moving out,” Lena told me. “We have a notarized letter.”

Lindner moved out. But when the Sakirsky’s real estate agent went to do a final walk through in the house, she couldn’t open the door. The locks had been changed. And guess who was living there.

Oh this poor soul.

These evil landlords.

They should just sign the entire house over to him.

He deserves it, because, uhhh, oh yea, he is depressed...

Absentee Landlords. They contribute to the ruination of Bayside.

Landlords are just in it for the money.
Let them spend some $$$ and do it the right way and go to court.
What are they hiding ?

Howard's producer should have had the world's smallest violin playing in the background.

I am amazed at what certain creeps get away with living in this city. Especially when I think of a few incidents of people stealing deeds with judge's approval and that cocksucker tenant that damaged a rental unit to the point that a woman had to leave town that Howard exposed last year.

This SHOULD NOT BE.

Many do not report rent and do not pay taxes! American dream: come here (legally or illegally); bring as many relatives as you can; cram as many people as you can into your living quarters; bring over the old folks and get them medicare and social security; work off the books; skim cash from your businesses; buy as many houses as you can; collect rents, don't pay taxes, etc.

Isn't life wonderful. Unfortunately not for all of us, who have been harmed by all of this.

I hope they have accommodations for the dog in the homeless shelter.

Really makes a person want to resort to "self-help".

The owner must have been really stupid. He should have only given the $12k after the squatter was totally moved out and returned the key. It's really a shame that there are so many scumbag tenants and squatters that make NYC worse for everyone - alfster

My 91 year old dad who lives in Maspeth tenants haven't paid rent since March.
We have gone to court several times to get them out....keeps getting postponed.
Now they say my dad assaulted them....basically horrible people who have done this their entire lives....now a 91 year old man has to fight for his own property.
and my dad needs the income to live on....the judges are afraid to make a decision.

All that's left is eviction..or go in and throw all his crap out on the street and new locks & an alarm.

As the neighborhood changes, trash like these will all be pushed out.

Thanks to the glacial pace of Housing Court, bad landlords and bad tennants can get away with it for ages.

Poor owners, they're going to have to wait a year or two, paying property taxes without any income, before they can get rid of this leech.

Mayor de Blasio Signs Three New Laws Protecting Tenants

how nice

Guess what, you get stiffed for a few months on rent and you want to evict the bum costing you and trashing your house, now the mayor is hiring more lawyers that you, the taxpayer, are paying for.

Then after jerking you around and costing you time and Money, usually about a year, they agree to pay the rent via the "affordable housing effort." And you are still stuck with the bums living in your house.

Oh yea, then this program goes broke, I guess shortly after the comrade's reelection, and the process starts all over again. Usually a year of lawyers, court, no rent, heat, taxes mortgage, etc. while the bum continues to wreck and live in your house and you cannot get rid of him.

Like a bad dream, only realize you are awake.

The system is rigged against you...

If we want to generalize, the fucked up tenant stories are matched only by the equally fucked up landlord stories.
Some people are dirt.

"Mayor de Blasio Signs Three New Laws Protecting Tenants"

*Tenants have more rights than property owners.
*Homeless have more right than homeowners.
*Illegal immigrants have more rights than citizens.
*Those who can't speak English have more rights than those who can.
*Non-licensed drivers have more right than licensed drivers.

America is quickly becoming a joke.

guy is a few chips short of a full bag.

Send him to the nut house and let contributing citizens live their lives.

I think his dogs planned to change the locks and seize the house. That mastiff probably told him to dummy up when he saw Howard by the lawn.

Where is this anyway? It looks like lindenwood.
