Farrington Hotel prostitution bust

From the Daily News:

Workers at hotels in Brooklyn and Queens were nabbed on Thursday for funneling johns to prostitutes who stayed there, law enforcement sources said.

Local and federal authorities descended on the 39 Hotel on 39th St. in Sunset Park and arrested two women at 3 p.m., police said. Both workers were charged with promoting prostitution, according to the sources.

Three transgender men — believed to be prostitutes — were also arrested on outstanding warrants, police sources said.

The raid coincided with a bust at the Farrington Hotel in Flushing — which is under the same ownership, sources said. One arrest was made in that case.

wow, that captures perfectly the image people have of Queens. Go down the street and see the handful of really sweet houses that give you an idea of Flushing before the Democrats took over.

I'm totally shocked this could happen.
We need to investigate and get to the bottom of this so
we can be more sensitive to the needs of these hard working workers.

Sweet. So that's why we need so many hotels in Flushing!

Transgender men? How's that for DIVERSITY folks? This is nuts!

And nobody, from the community board to DOB to NYPD, knew this was/is going on all throughout Queens and Brooklyn?

This hotel harkens back to the film taxi driver with Sport (harvey keitel) loitering at the entrance.

These are the new bad days. But the city is too crowded with transplants, tourists, shadow tenants and building cranes to notice it.

Cue announcement that major crimes are down .8%

Now that's a good question! Apparently when the feds get involved things are different.

Is this going to happen to the 2 new hotels being built on corner of Linden Place and 31 Rd., across intersection from Bd of Education, PS 232, Pathmark/Stop n Shop and car wash?

This story has been altered. The original daily news story mentioned charges for human trafficking. I wonder how many man hours of local and federal officers it took to make three measly prostitution arrests?

Maybe I am confusing my sources.

Obviously there was more than prostitution going on at the 2 hotels.
The feds got involved.

At least with the internet the poor overworked ladies do not have to walk the streets anymore...

seems they were having good business. That's why there are so many new no-tel motels in our Queens, such those new ones in Fresh Meadows.

Ever try to get people in Queens engaged in anything besides staged events or consumer themed occasions centered around bars or food?

The machine, with its fascist overtones, does everything it can to stifle democracy and community engagement. Lots of nasty stuff happens in that sort of environment - this is mild stuff.

COB? Get involved? In what?
Protecting their turf, that's what.
Driving around I saw many new constructions on 35th Av, 146th Street, looks like apartment buildings will be going up.
The area is super congested already, nobody seems to care, urban planning is non existent.
Now add the cars to the mix and soon nobody will be able to drive around Flushing.
There is church being erected on 33rd Avenue.
Good luck on weekends trying to get anywhere in this area of Queens.
And yes this will include public transportation as well.
No wonder why so many bus drivers are stressed.
Thanks to the politicos, CB7 for allowing this area to become a true nightmare.

Excellent quote. These are very much the new bad days. I live on 158th street in Flushing. No less than THREE houses infested with rats, and large rodent poison signs all over the street. Massage parlors all over 162nd street. Gambling parlors and horrible, awful construction projects.

Last week, someone literally parked on the sidewalk in front of me, throwing his cigarette down as he exited the car.

Flushing is over.
