Don't tell me- the firehouse which services His townhouse isn't on the list. What a surprise. Guess who gets to share the sacrifice!

The mayor, and his real estate industry pals, have a definite agenda.

It's to hollow out poorer neighborhoods...so that those "pesky" (darker skinned?) minorities will be forced out.

Then these nabes get bought up by Mike's buddies for pennies on the dollar.

What's next?

They build condos for yuppies and all get richer than they are.

Allowing these nabes to burn to the ground even helps future developers to avoid the costly demolition process that would normally ensue.

Then there's always HUD money available for rebuilding.

And everybody who's connected, gets their fat slice of the pie!

As the British would say,
"Nasty business, this all is"!

Mayor Bloomberg is literally going to out in a blaze of shame. He is leaving the city at major risk if any major disaster (natural or man-made) should happen. What I don't understand is why more people aren't taking to the streets and protesting about it ? I'm organising a th3rd y3ar anniv3rsary of the change in t3rm limits -- I hope everybody joins me : http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=173448992703011

But nobody has to wait. People can start taking to the streets, now. Will they ??

Also, note how the entire West Village booed Mayor Bloomberg outside a large rally at the former site of St. Vincent's Hospital : http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=3tj3DvDWMu8

KEEP THE FIREHOUSES OPEN!!!

Folks, this is the oldest trick in the book. Use Firehouses and Police Officers to scare the public and then either the Mayor or City Council will miraculously find the money and save the city from doom. Don’t be fooled again!

This is an outrage!
I live in the Coney Island/Brighton Beach section of South Brooklyn & on the hit list is the Firehouse on W. 8th St.
It's opposite Luna Park Housing , close by the Amusement Area of the new Coney Island.
The Impish BP President Marty Markowitz talks a good talk about how these closures in Brooklyn are unacceptable BUT HE STILL HAS $ 65 MILLION DOLLARS FOR HIS MUSIC AMPHITHEATER IN SEASIDE PARK ON THE TABLE.
The Imp BP Marty Markowitz could keep ALL OF THE FIRE HOUSES OPEN WITH JUST SAYING NO TO THE AMPHITHEATER AND PUTTING TAXPAYER MONIES TO WHERE IT BELONGS: SAVING LIVES & THE HEALTH & SAFETY OF ALL BROOKLYNITES.

WOW!

"Karsan committed to building the cars in a Brooklyn auto plant that would have generated hundreds of solid union jobs. Nissan plans to build its vans, which will replace the city's entire fleet in coming years, at a cost of $1 billion, elsewhere in the country."

How many firehouse could remain open with that $1 billion?
