Thompson catching up to Bloomberg

From Bloomberg Watch:

The Thompson campaign forwarded over results from a SurveyUSA election poll sponsored by WABC-TV New York, which shows the Democratic mayoral challenger trailing Bloomberg by only eight percentage points. This shows much promise for Thompson since Bloomberg has spent a whopping $65 million in his run for a third term, compared to the $4 million Thompson has spent at this point.

"In an election for mayor of New York City 10/06/09, one month until votes are counted, incumbent Republican Mike Bloomberg faces strong opposition from Democrat Bill Thompson, according to an exclusive WABC-TV poll conducted by SurveyUSA. Today: it’s Bloomberg 51%, Thompson 43%. Bloomberg has outspent Thompson 16:1."

Lets us hope that Thompson can maintain this upsurge--perhaps raise some additional money? With a little luck, Thompson might be able to squeak through come election day....

I really dont think this matters anymore. Any of it. The sheep are not educated enough to know any better.

It sickens me to see so many small, independent business, up and down Myrtle and Fresh Pond Road with Mayor Mike posters in the windows.

Do these people realize that small businesses are NOT supported AT ALL by Mikey?

All it took was some staffer wandering around saying "hey, can we put this in your window? The mayor supports you!" to convince them otherwise.

With Bloomberg's lead reduced to single digits, maybe now Obama, Chuck, and Hillary will step up and show their support.

Hey anonymous #2,

If you don't like seeing Mike's posters at your local stores, bring some Thompson posters, and put them up.

DUMP BLOOMBERG IN NOVEMBER!!!!

Even though I'm no fan of Bloomberg, at least you know what you are getting.

The only way Bloomie won't win will be if he dies.

PLEASE let's trash Bloombucks on November! Drag people to the polls if you have to.

51% Bloomberg
43% Thompson

That is great news!! No wonder Bloomie is nervous and spending like an idiot. Just imagine this: if only Bloomscum was a decent guy and left after his 2 terms, he could've given that 68 million(campaign $$ spent) and given it to charity. Typical selfish creep.

Thompson = Dinkins Part Deux

Bloomberg's advertising budget just went up by about another 20 or 30 million to be sure. I guess he couldn't cook these books.

Bloomberg = Hitler Part Deux!

Thompson...a benign slacker.

Bloomberg...a spreading malignancy.

Take your choice.

I prefer #1.
