Facing a firetrap rap

From the Daily News:

The Brooklyn district attorney's office is weighing whether to bring criminal charges against the owner of an illegal apartment where a mother and her 1-year-old son died in a fire.

Samily Chan, 25, and her son, Ivan, died Monday after they were trapped in their basement apartment in Homecrest.

Deran Chan, 2, and Zheng Chan, 27, remained in critical condition yesterday at New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell in Manhattan.

Owner Xiao Ping Li has already been hit with violations for creating the illegal apartment, which has only one way in and out.

As the Gilbert & Sullivan lyric goes. "Let the punishment fit the crime"!

Burn him at the stake!

I'll provide the matches and the barbeque sauce!

Again, what happened to all that taxpayer money being shoveled into groups to help immigrants?

If people are getting killed, then it is not being spent to good effect.

Every week people are dying at work and in their homes.

How about a public investigation as to the treatment of immigrants in NYC?
