"I have something for your Queens Crap website: Today, January 13, 2015, around 3:55pm, I was walking on Winchester Avenue between Union Turnpike and Hillside Avenue, and a woman walked by me STARK NAKED. It must have been like 20 degrees outside, and she didn't have any panties, bra, shoes or socks on. NOTHING AT ALL. Not even jewelry.
I went into the Creedmoor complex to tell someone. I went into building # 73, there was a receptionist and a man there in a small reception area. I told the woman there. She asked me is the woman I saw dark skinned? I said yes, but not too much. Is she a bit chunky? Yes, and just a little taller than me. Then the receptionist said, oh that must be "CeCe".
Apparently they knew who the woman was and this woman has done this before. I couldn't believe it. What a sight. A flabby 30 or 40 year old woman stark naked in the cold walking down the street. Don't know where she was going. Cars were stopping and looking. Later on, I went back into building 73 and asked them what happened, they said the cops and the firemen all showed up to corral her.
I'm writing to you because I live near that Creedmoor area, and last year an inmate from Rikers Island escaped around there. To enter that complex, there's a small opening to enter, on Winchester close to Union Tpke and there's a traffic light there. If you go in, there's a guard booth BUT there is NEVER EVER any guard there. There really should be!! This area is really scary. I witnessed something really, really weird there today, the naked lady."

Glassy, not classy
From CBS New York:
Imagine looking out of your window one morning and seeing your neighbors taking a shower.
That’s exactly what could happen in Brooklyn after one couple built their bath in a way that leaves little to the imagination.
Call it a shower with a view, CBS 2’s Steve Langford reported Friday.
Beyond the exposed brick walls of the beautiful Cobble Hill homes, one newly renovated townhouse features a very exposed glass shower.
The view from the back of the townhouse shows a huge glass enclosed shower area overlooking the backyard, the apparent absence of curtains of great interest to neighbors who have a full frontal view of this home improvement. Langford tried to reach the owners by phone on Friday, but one quickly hung up.

Liquor license denied, now bikini club may go 100% nude

From DNA Info:
There might be bikinis, but there won't be booze.
A proposed Astoria bikini bar that's drawn the ire of local politicians had its liquor license rejected by the State Liquor Authority on Tuesday.
The owners behind Racks, at 19-26 Steinway St. between 19th and 20th Avenues, applied for a liquor license this spring with plans to open the space as a bar and grill where the female servers would don bikinis.
Several neighborhood politicians came out in opposition to the planned adult-entertainment spot, arguing Racks is an unsavory addition to the neighborhood and would negatively affect the area's property values.
"A place like Racks is wholly out of character with the family-friendly neighborhood of its proposed location," said Astoria Assemblywoman Aravella Simotas, who led the public charge against the bar, collecting signatures from local residents and holding an opposition rally at a nearby park.
"Astoria does not need scantily-clad women performing lap and pole dances a stone’s throw away from a playground, middle school, and our neighbor’s homes," Simotas said in a statement.
The bar's owners could still choose to go forward and open — even as a full-on nude adult entertainment establishment — and just not serve liquor.
Great job, Aravella! The place is in a 100% industrial zone, yet it's going to affect children? Be careful what you wish for - you just may get it.

In the shadow of Ed Koch's bridge...

From the Daily News:
The owners of a controversial Long Island City strip club who have twice been denied a liquor license are hoping the third time’s the charm.
Lawyers for 21 Group Inc., which currently operates Show Palace, have asked the New York State Liquor Authority to reconsider their most recent application.
The authority will mull that request at its Oct. 25 meeting.
Show Palace, formerly named Gypsy Rose, went ahead and opened several months ago without the liquor license. The all-nude club and restaurant sits at the foot of the Queensboro Bridge.
The authority rejected its application earlier this year after intensive lobbying by local civic leaders and elected officials.
They pointed out the city has invested millions in helping that section of Long Island City shed its seedy image and transform into a thriving business and residential center.
“People stop at a light and stare at this all-nude sign — that’s not the welcome mat that we want for our borough,” said City Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer (D-Sunnyside). “We are proud to call this area the gateway to Queens and it has changed for the better with many families coming in and calling this neighborhood home.”
But Terry Flynn, the lawyer for 21 Group, pointed out the club meets all zoning and building code regulations for the site.
“They are qualified to hold a license,” said Flynn. “This place has been operating without any incident whatsoever.”
Interesting how media calls it the "Ed Koch-Queensboro Bridge" when the mayor is connecting some stupid legacy project to it, but when something seedy near it is being reported on, Koch's name gets dropped.

"Keep your pants on..."

From the Daily News:
Rockaway residents fed up with getting an eyeful from a nude beach are demanding the city rebuild a fence to shield their gaze from naked sunbathers.
Dozens of scandalized locals rallied at the beach Sunday — pushing to rebuild the fence that separated the federally controlled adult beach in Riis Park from the tamer sands of Neponsit.
The fence blew down during Hurricane Irene last year - and the protesters said the nude beachgoers have been in their face ever since.
"The city needs to put the fence back up, plain and simple," said City Councilman Eric Ulrich (R-Queens). "This is about protecting families and children. This is about protecting the community. This is about protecting decency."
City officials have been reluctant to rebuild the fence, saying the law requires undivided public access to beaches below the high tide line. Parks Commissioner Adrian Benepe said in a letter to local officials that the city Parks Department and the National Parks Service, which runs Riis Park, are trying to manage their properties with a “more holistic approach.”

Sanders declares victory vs. billboard
Press release from Council Member James Sanders:
For months, a large billboard advertisement depicting a scantily clad woman hovered over Rockaway Boulevard in front of the Platinum Club, a Queens strip club that faces the street on the western side of the busy roadway. Foot and vehicle traffic passed underneath it every day, exposing everyone who passed, including young children, to its lewd imagery.
Today, New York City Councilman James Sanders, Jr. (D-Far Rockaway) has announced that the billboard, which had been covered up for weeks after the club was served with an eviction notice for failure to pay more than $150,000 in back rent, has now been completely removed. The Councilman had joined with community leaders to fight for the removal of the advertisement which he felt strongly was inappropriate and indecent given its location and depiction.
“We welcome all businesses and store fronts to our community, provided they intend to be a good neighbor,” said Councilman Sanders. “But we will not allow crude, offensive depictions to pollute our community. Our goal is to have the very best for ourselves and the children of our neighborhoods. When we allow crudeness and mediocrity to become the order of the day, we grow accustomed to losing. This time, we took a stand for common decency, and common decency won.”

Billboard blackout!

The risqué lady who had been causing quite a stir for Rosedale homeowners and passing motorists has left the building.
The infamous billboard that featured a scantily clad woman that hung above the Platinum Club at 248-58 Rockaway Blvd. was taken down two weeks ago, according to City Councilman James Sanders (D-Laurelton). The billboard, which was legal, has the woman painted over from head to toe in black paint.
“The nearly nude woman has been spray-painted over. She has become invisible. She cannot be seen by the naked eye, at least outside the club,” he said.
The club’s managers were evicted by the owner of the building in April after failing to pay the rent for two months. For more than a year, the councilman and community groups protested outside the strip club, demanding that it take down the sign.
Sanders and Nassau County legislator Jeff Toback filed a nuisance lawsuit against the Platinum Club’s owners and Community Board 13 voted to prohibit the club’s owners from renewing their liquor license.
Without being able to sell liquor, the club lost tremendous business and was forced to shut down, Sanders said.
The councilman called the sign’s removal a victory for southeast Queens residents and a reminder to any business owner who wants to bring lewd trade to the community.

A Standard spectacle

Note to parents strolling the High Line: Don't let your kids look up.
The Meatpacking District's newly opened, much-touted urban park along an elevated, former railroad trestle has unwittingly turned into a peep show near The Standard hotel, as randy hotel guests perform sex acts in front of floor-to-ceiling hotel windows.
Disgusted neighbors say they've seen men masturbating, professional porn films being shot and couples engaging in sex in full view of the stunning High Line park path running alongside.
Business neighbors also are disgusted.
The Standard's Facebook page bluntly encourages the explicit behavior.
"We encourage you to exercise your inner exhibitionist. Please share your intimate, and explicit photos with us -- those floor to ceiling windows aren't just for the views..."
The hotel Web site beckons:
"Whatever you do, just make sure the shots are HOT and that you get them to us in whichever way you can. It's all about sex all the time, and you're our star."
After The Post contacted The Standard for comment, the posting was abruptly changed.
The 18-floor hotel opened at the end of last year -- with raunch-friendly ads.
"We'll put up with your banging if you put up with ours," an ad declared, picturing a woman wearing nothing but a tool belt.
