What a failure NYC has become !
So typical. All they need is a simple railing, yet they're going to install a glass wall with moveable doors at $30M per station. You could outfit the entire subway system for $30M with simple railings that would be 98% as effective. But grifters gonna grift.
PS - Hilarious how in the video they show people getting on the subway, and there's the black guy, brazenly not wearing any mask. Good for him, they don't work anyway!

They have this in Europe and Japan where the train cars are the same measurements between the trains cars and door. Also in Japan and Europe the same trains run on the same lines.
Wont work in New York with all the different built trains, lines switching around sharing the same tracks.
2: City needs see through walls of bars with remote doors before the ticket machines and turnstiles so the nuts cant get down.
This so a face scanner, fingerprint reader, attendant or cop with a simple Bluetooth device could wirelessly lock a nut or feces covered mental case out and contain them until special services arrive with a straitjacket, PP, gloves and spit shield, etc.
You don't want nuts and killers down on the narrow platforms out of wide field of view at all !!
It may sound cruel but this is the safest way to handle these people and all the paranoid schizophrenics.
It will also cost a huge amount less then gates the length of an 8 or 10 car train of the largest subway cars on the planet.
New York City is not Japan or Sweeden.
Why are the stupid, ignorant and clueless appointed for the jobs they are unqualified to make decisions on?

Yeah, railings would be great. Why did nobody think of that before? Maybe people could sit on them while they are waiting for a train.
Think of it as new advertisement revenue space. That's quite a lot of square footage for Verizon and Nike adverts.
Oh yeah, and when even one of these doors malfunctions, *BAM* ... 20 minute delay.
The Electurds in NY created the problem and now will make money off the tax payers.
