Taggers won't back down

From the Daily News:

Graffiti vandals have been on a rampage — painting murals and boastful tags on the outside of two dozen subway cars since New Year’s Day.

The spray-paint menaces carried out at least nine sneak attacks in the first 11 days of the year — sometimes returning to the same spot on consecutive days, sources said.

One tagger even taunted authorities for an apparent lack of vigilance, scrawling “MTA You are slacken” on the exterior of a subway car that was parked overnight in the Bronx.

“They’re like cockroaches,” one transit source said. “If you don’t keep on top of them, they come right back.”

And these pests eat up a lot of taxpayer money.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority on average spends about $1 million a year to remove graffiti from its stainless steel subway trains, spokesman Kevin Ortiz said.

Yep...I've noticed that graffiti everywhere is getting bad. ....Welcome to the diblasio years! Next Crime is going to go back to how it was back in the 80s.....just a matter of time but this time we won't catch them because they will just go back to their own country. This city is nothing but a crap hole filled with foreign crap now as opposed to American crap that we had running around back in the 80s. Atleast the 80s were fun times in nyc (minus the american crap who committed crimes) when we actually did have our own culture.

They need to pull a Michael Stewart on them

Well, what do you expect in NYC, where quality of life issues are rarely enforced.

And what is this "Welcome to the diblasio years!"

The quality of life has been going down for a long time, most during when Bloomberg was in office.

I have bad news for anti- immigrants bloggers. I have personally caught nearly fourty graffyites and every one of them were Americans (second or more generations).

This started under Bloomberg - same with homeless people all over the subways. That's been going on for well over 2 years now and gets worse every week.

NYPD's vandal squad used to have 100 officers. now they have 10. Bloomberg cut back on cops via attrition and little to no hiring.

the first poster sound like a Crowley hack...

80s were fun times in NYC? wtf? sure notice that the crack epidemic was fueled by all those Americans in the ghetto?

"Taggers won't back down" because too many people call them "artists" instead of what they really are. They are vandals who create a blight on everything they tag.

Back to the bad old days under Bill Sandinista Duh-Blazio. I'll bet he just thinks their "art" is a colorful and inspiring rainbow! But I'm sure NYPD will eagerly enforce all laws knowing that they have 100% support and respect from Sandinista Bill, right?

Some of these taggers are grown men in their 40's and have been doing it since the late 80's/early 90's.

The citywide vandals(what's left of them) work during school hours locking up kids writing their names on desks and lockers....... That should scare those taggers!

MTA has got to do better. With fares increasing, rats flourishing underground, and buses running off schedule daily, now graffiti bandits vandalizing subway cars. Time to wisely invest in better surveillance systems to detect these crimes taking place.
