It's time to take action, Astoria!

Take 15 Minutes to Send a Letter to the BSA by

I'm surprised these good folks didn't show up for Peter Vallone's rally against the developer.

Oh...I'm sorry, that didn't and won't happen. My bad!

Let's see if the Greater Astoria Historical Society chimes in on this one.

Astorians never take action.
That's why Astoria has become Vallonia!

Wanna bet that the Vallones are the lobbyists for this builder?

Hey folks, Vallone's poll shows him ahead! I guess he'll soon be doing for Queens all he's done for Astoria!

The problem in getting the community behind them is that once their issue is solved they will disappear when you need help for your issue.

The problem in getting the community behind them is that once they lose their issue, they will disappear ensuring that this will come up again and again.

The problem in getting the community behind them is that the pols will create their own mouthpiece in the community that 'work with the developer' and will get all the press and funding.

This is what happens to a community that has no civic culture.

The Astoria Community responds to this issue on Astorians.com

You actually creating a separate thread for this makes it annoying, and makes me start to dislike your cause.

Healthcare costs, gun laws debates, unemployment, federal economy, national security and all the other issues going on in the world today, and you're now spamming the forums because of a building that you think is an eyesore and violates a building code.

Any action I take would now be to SUPPORT this building because I'd love more local doctors. For that, thank you for informing me of it! And they will have parking too? Awesome!

Their already doing for Queens what they have done for Valonia, look at the fetted chemical dump they are turning into 154 nice family homes. God help Queens!

Driscoll Group is the lobbyist. Pali Realty has already spent $12,500 between August and December 2012.
Target: NYC Council Members
Subject: Rezoning

A valid critique, no doubt. How do you propose we stay connected to this issue and others once our current battle ends? What are some civic groups I should be joining?

Thanks,

in this corner, the Driscoll Group:

Bill Driscoll, Principal

1.served as Chief of Staff in the New York State Assembly for Assemblyman Denis Butler,
2.in the City Council to Council Member Karen Koslowitz,
3.in Congress for Representative Thomas Manton,
4. and as Counsel to the Queens County Clerk Gloria D'Amico,
5. serves as a member of the Executive Committee of the New York State Democratic Committee

Clients:

1.The Cement League
2.Queens Chamber of Commerce
3.Queens Economic Development Corp

in that corner:

a couple of homeowners in Peter Vallone's council district and in Community Board 1.

Now stay with us on this one:

1. This is a snowball.
2. That is a white hot skillet.
3. Remember that old saw about a snowball and Hell?

The Cement League?

WTF?

Don "junior" Vallone's poll is a pole up your ass, not mine, my dear Astorian malcontent...and it's rigged!

Northeast Queens will never become as densely built as Manhattan East...or Astoria as it's currently known.

Time to move, if you're that unhappy with your lot in life.

It looks like someone has been singled out for his B.S. regarding the Valloney baloney poll results.

Take heart - you live in the Media Capital of the World.

SOMEONE will cover the David vs Goliath battle .......

um .... right?

Do you expect Ass-torians to take even 15 minutes of their time protecting their own turf?

Not when they're relying on the Vallones to do their work for them.

It's a pity that the Vallones are only interested in what's good for the Vallones...and that's getting re-elected.

Where do they get the $$$$$$$$ to run their expensive political campaigns?

From the developers their law firm lobbies for!
