Time to pony up the dough
From the NY Post:
These hot-dog slingers are short a lot of bread.
Three outlaw street vendors have run up an eye-popping $959,000 in unpaid Health Department fines in the past decade, The Post has learned.
Getting away with the ruse is easy: After racking up the violations, the vendors applied for new permits using different names, Social Security numbers or addresses. That allowed them to evade the registration system, which requires that all summonses be settled before licenses can be renewed, every two years.
All three were recently called before administrative hearings and were found guilty, even though none of them showed up.
