"These signs have been popping up on almost every tree in Forest Hills.

Pretty funny passive aggressiveness." - anonymous

From the NY Times:

"...urine kills trees and other plants. 'The acid eats right through the bark and cambial zone to the wood zone, destroying the tree's defense system,' said Eric T. Fleisher, the director of horticulture at the Battery Park City Parks Conservancy, which oversees the public park at the lower tip of Manhattan. Even a small opening in the bark is a gateway for micro-organisms that can spread disease through the tree."

Ya can't puff on a cigarette in the parks or on the beach but your doggie can pee anywhere. And it can crap anywhere as long as you pick up most of the poop.

Does anyone besides me find this to be out of whack?

every human being who is picking up the crap of a dog is NUTS . dogs belong in the country ,not within n.y.c. limits.

the stink along upper Manhattan curbs is unbearable.

I do agree with the signs, however... if you staple or thumbtack signs into trees you are killing the bark, imagine having staples or thumbtacks shoved into your living arm. a bigger problem is those bikes chained to street trees. the chains tear off the bark and eventually kill the trees. who's gonna send the memo to the illegal aliens who scam work as delivery boys. aka the jobs Americans used to do before the illegal alien invasion.

A person can't take a leak in the street but a dog can. What's the difference?

The difference is public indecency - and showing your wang/poonani in public.

That's from all of the homeless that Bloomburg forced out of their homes in this city due to OVERDEVELOPMENT that you smell.

That have to do it somewhere!
