There's a Spanish night club in my neighborhood that BLASTS salsa into the air every weekend. I've called 311 countless times and they tell me they'll forward it to the local precinct as a "non-emergency" response. They give me a case number and when I check back on the computer they tell me over and over and over again that the cops showed up and found nothing going on. Same story with the auto dealers that park their cars for sale on the side walk - up and down Northern Blvd. from the 40's through the 60's.
Same old cock and bull 311 story.
Instead of calling a TV show, these folks in the video have got to get their asses together and have one afternoon of community clean-up and put all this garbage on the side walk for Sanitation to pick-up. And BTW when the sanitation truck goes by for months and months the guys working the truck don't see this? They don't report it and act on it?
And where's their City Councilperson? Getting arrested by the cops?

George, it seems like you are in Community Board One - if you are a developer you will be listened to, if not, well, its called the community board from hell so that says it all.
311 and the operators at 311 for the most part are not the problem. They take down the information and send it. We need to place the blame where it lies.
It is with the actual worker that goes out and inspects the complaint. They need to be held accountable. They must be blind deaf and dumb if they say they can't find what was called in when it is so utterly obvious what and where the problem is.
The news should do a piece on all the problems called in and marked unfounded and not fixed.
Why does it take sometimes 10 minutes to speak to a 311 operator in the first place?
First the recording tells you about alternate side of the street parking. Then school information. Finally, the necessary announcement in Spanish.
I'm not blaming the operators. When you finally get one they are quite courteous. It's what happens afterwards.
That club B L A S T S the salsa. There is no way that a cop car coming from the 108 cannot hear it. There is no way that a cop car can ignore autodealers' vehicles displayed on the sidewalk.
Why don't you call Jimmy Van Bramer - what is he doing besides climbing the political ladder - Gioia tried the same and see how far he got?
Why don't you call Carolyn Maloney -she sunk $40 million into the area for development and by this club showing the true colors of this area sends a message to the developers that local advocates gave them a rooking on their investment.
Finally, get in touch the local civic - $10,000s has been given to is so it much be really big with lots of people - and the zoning was recently changed to bring more people into the community.
Forgetabout calling. Going through channels is a big waste of time.

Why your neighborhood is full of Queens Crap

Calling 311 is a J-O-K-E.

I can think of some events in the borough that are full of vermin.
Not a community.

The cops don't give a damn.
