NYCHA employees use City cars for personal use

From the Daily News:

Dozens of Housing Authority employees commute to and from work on the taxpayers' dime - some even using city cars for weekend getaways, the Daily News has found.

Take Jerome Paige, a supervisor in the authority's Brooklyn office. Last month, The News found Paige and his city-owned Ford Windstar minivan at an exclusive Poconos resort known as The Hideout.

Records show the $90,000-a-year bureaucrat puts in for the 240-mile round trip to his chalet every weekend. In two years, that's 20,000 miles, courtesy of the taxpayers.

Tracked to his mountain retreat, Paige refused to talk about his commuting habits, except to admit he had driven the van there.

See, this is what you get when you collectivize aspects of society. Human nature. It's the "public" trough and the big shot bonzos drink mightily at the expense of the zhlubs at the bottom. Remember the commie bosses in the USSR - the socialist "paradise" - and their dachas?

If it weren't for our free press exposing these rip-offs, it would have already been 1984.

Ho-hum. What's the next collectivist scandal? Universal healthcare?

I didn't know you were allowed to take city cars out of the city or state. does our insurance cover this?

Paige it's time to reimburse NYC taxpayers for mileage, maintenance, insurance and fuel the rest of us ordinary citizens (Your bosses) must do on our own if we owned a "Hideway" in the distant countryside" Who are you hiding away from or hiding - your mistresses? Pay up Paige - you make 90K - the rest of us have lost our jobs and getting tax hikes to keep you in yours.

These people are reprehensible, and should be fitted for "Texas neck ties".

But I sometimes wonder whether these people are merely the "show trial" victims. The media parades these clowns in front of us all, and we're supposed to throw rocks at them and yell nasty things. But the "big fish" politicians who are the ones stealing HUGE amounts of money just quietly keep on stealing $$$ while our attention is diverted.

There's plenty of room in hell for all these guys. I hear it's a hot place, and smells like sulfur, but they play some good heavy metal music such as Black Sabbath all day.....

Do you really want to go there? Prepare to construct all your own private roadways george, 'cause I'll go all nra on yer skinny arse if I see you on any of our collectivist roads.

I still don't know why Queens Public Library vehicles have Official Plates when they admit on their website that, "Queens Library is an independent, not-for-profit corporation and is not affiliated with any other library system." Why do their management people get to ride around and not have to worry about parking tickets?

That's okay, georgie. You're not obligated to acknowledge your hypocrisy. Take it silently with you to the grave. May you be reborn with a larger cranium and a more developed conscience.

its so ironic that these administrators have access to these car off hours . If you do need an offical car you should drive your own car to the offical garage and pick it up.
Plus these cars would much better used in the consoladated developments. The developments like these have workers who have to walk 6 or 7 city blocks to get to their work sites to perform all kinds of work from maintance to janitorial AND THEY WALK with matierals in hand rain sleet snow!!!!!!!!! Some even use there own vehicals and Are not insured in any way by NYCHA
