Bayside spa in violation of fire code

City Councilman Tony Avella (D−Bayside) has renewed his fight against InSpa World in College Point, calling for the Korean establishment to be closed down after it received several fire violations from the Fire Department.

Avella said the FDNY issued violations to InSpa World for blocked exits, inadequate exit signs, double cylinder locks, no proof of flame proofing and the lack of maintenance of a fire suppression system.

“I find it completely disgraceful and unacceptable that the facility has remained in operation under such blatant negligence and mismanagement,” Avella said. “This building should be shut down immediately until all corrections are made.”

This place is a plague on College Point. You can't drive down 11th avenue without someone coming out of their driveway without looking.

Put a sock in it, Tony. InSpa World is amazing. it's like a taking a vacation without leaving Queens. Help bring them to code, don't threaten them.

Tony, have an auditor thoroughly examine the books. Do a forensic audit.

Find the payoffs to Commissar Death and taxes and the DOB.

Anon, go find your hookers elsewhere.

"Anon, go find your hookers elsewhere."

Good one, taxpayer.

In the interest of full disclosure, Taxpayer's mom just turned her red light back on.

Spa World is the closest thing Queens has to Splish Splash or Hurricane Harbor. In its short history, it has become a destination. It is one of those things that put our borough on the map.

Instead of threatening Spa World, I hope that Tony Avella can work with them to alleviate traffic concerns, and bring it to code.

By the way, did you know that Spa World has a free shuttle bus that connects it to Downtown Flushing? That should muffle the opposition of NIMBY neighbors.

Tony the Asian hating racist should have his books examined. BTW - there are no hookers at InSpa, if you went, you'd know.

It's the spa owner's responsibility to have built it to code in the first place doofus #2 anonynmous poster.

In Korea a property owner might be able to get away with criminal disregard for human life but not here!

Go and stuff a knotted sock
up your own ass!

Nope. Not code or safety concerns... those are legitimate targets.

Gee...I wish I were Asian.

Then whenever I choose to break a law I can claim that everybody's against me just because I'm Asian.

The call this kind of drivel
the Tommy Huang defense!
