Emergency repairs shut down Borden Ave Bridge

In case you're wondering what the emergency is, try taking the bus or driving over this bridge and experience the shelf that has been created by the western end that's sinking.
A 7-month closure sucks in a major way.

I wonder if there are any engineers handy who know bascule bridges, since there are so few of them -- four in the mainland USA.

Gee, instead of the boro president giving a few favored local cultural groups thousands of dollars for a half-hearted attempt at celebraing the 100 anniversary (for a day or two), she should have parked the money into fixing the bridge.

Oh I would love to get a breakdown to verify rumours.

Thank god their finally doing something about that huge hump at the end of the bridge.

I wonder though if this will lead to a borden ave bike lane? What a comedy that would be.

They dont need a bike lane.I and many others will continue to bike over there to work.People have been biking that route for 30 years.Its not some new phenomenon.
