From the Daily News:
A Crain's New York Business report on Monday quoted Councilman Hiram Monserrate (D-Jackson Heights) as saying there was a hangup in moving Sambucci to the corporate park because salvage yards are banned in urban renewal areas.
Monserrate said the Sambucci controversy showed that the EDC needs a more detailed relocation plan. Relocating almost 260 businesses is "not an easy undertaking," he said.
[Deputy Mayor Robert] Lieber seemed to admit as much at his Borough Hall appearance. "I'm not sure that all of these businesses are going to survive," he said.

In a Crain's New York Business article posted on Wednesday, August 6 at Queens and More (www.queensandmore.blogspot.com)Danny Sambucci was quoted as saying, “Everything is settled. They resolved everything. We have no problems.”
He said the same thing in the article linked to here. Missing your point?
His point was to drive people to his website.
"[Deputy Mayor Robert] Lieber seemed to admit as much at his Borough Hall appearance. "I'm not sure that all of these businesses are going to survive," he said."
Knowing that, what the hell is a municipal employee doing interfering with the success of a business?
Who gave this moron the competence to interfere?
So, the only valid conclusion is that the interference is for corrupt purposes. Get big kickbacks from developers.
