Granny mugger gets nabbed!

Six years ago, Detective Walker had arrested a man named Cornelius Abson in a similar robbery: he had followed a woman home from a check-cashing facility, waited for her to get off the elevator, and then put her in a chokehold until she passed out, Detective Walker said.

“I remembered the case, and the body features were the exact same,” Detective Walker said.

That information helped lead the police and detectives to the arrest of Mr. Abson, 36, on Wednesday on charges that he robbed Lilian France, 85, in the elevator of an apartment building in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, last week.
