Oh, the humanity!

Here's an invite from the Queens Courier and Queens Business Today for a function at which a "Claire Shulman Award" and a "Realtor of the Year Award" are presented. And if that isn't bad enough, Melinda Katz has been invited to sing...

Ah, the real estate-newspaper-bank-politician connection. Oh, almost forgot that the senior VP of public affairs from Con Ed will be there, too. This sounds like one big happy orgy.

Anyone planning on going?

Perhaps they should put on the 59th Street Bridge "Welcome to the Alice in Wonderland World of Queens."

And its leadership often wonders why people snicker every time its mentioned.

I guess going to these functions and keeping a straight face is an acquired and practiced skill.

It wouldn't hurt to have an Annette Funicello photo of yourself from the 50s in your wallet.

I thought you were joking about Katz singing..but its no joke.

I'd almost consider spending $85 just to see that. QC should send someone to record it and put it on YouTube.

Oh I hope some off-broadway producer goes and writes a play about the event and stages it.

Might even make a movie and call it 'Katz of the Ailanthus.'

Queens Crap should be there to hand out their own awards Let's present Melida with her tiara!

And for those participants who flunked math (most of the crowd, I'd guess):

"$85 per person - $850 for a table of 10"

No group rate for an evening of ass-kissing bullshit?

Helen Marblesmouth Marshall will do the honors in presenting the Distinguished Grandma Shulman Award - a year's supply of Depends (courtesy of the Queens Crapper).

Past recipients of the Claire Shulman Award include Toby Ann Stavisky!

At least those Depends didn't go to waste when Toby won.

Will Mindy be bringing her jester along to dance and clap while she sings?

Land ("abuse") Use Committee Chair C.M. Katz should be singing, "God bless the developers, lawyers & real estate industry".

Here's a sample list of her 2003 & 2005 campaign contributors from NYC Campaign Finance Board records. You may "Google" the whole list:

Durst; Cord Meyer Development; Rockrose Dev; Ciampa; Mattone; Millstein Properties; Muss; Suna; Kiska; Tishman Speyer Properties; Triangle Equities Mgt. Co. LLC; Zucker; Bell Realty; Fillmore Real Estate; Brodsky Org; Fisher Bros. Mgt. Co; Carison Realty; Greenberg Traurig; Cherit Group; AVR Realty Co; Building Industry Ass. PAC; J.P. Morgan Chase PAC; NY Building Congress; Peter F. Vallone; Vallone PAC for NYC Future; 122nd Ave. Realty LLC; Queens Bronx Building Assn; Davidoff Melito LLP; Elactric Realty LLC; Douglaston Dev. LLC; 98-22 Realty LLC; Bluestone Mgt. Assn; Atco Properties & Mgt. ; Newmark & Co; Kaufman Realty; M.B. Real Estate; NY Heating Oil Assn; Petracca & Sons; Haves Pine & Seligman; Hakr Engineers PC!

Any further questions on the "Queen of Canoodling"?

The Queens Courier is a joke newspaper with a even bigger joke at the helm, Victoria Schneps.

That's right!...Victoria's "Secret" is that she is secretly "an asshole"..SSShhhuuusshh!

The only reason she writes that idiotic column is so she can get a big tax write-off for business travel expenses...what a racket!

Wait until Bayside finally gets overbuilt and properly "Flushing-ized". Victoria will probably move. Her paper will no longer have an audience (unless she prints an Asian version).

Her newspaper deals primarily with those "Bay-Club-Types" that live in the "bubble" of "Olde Tyme Bayside". It's full of wedding palaces, gift shops and flower shops etc. ads.....no substance!

Does she have any herself?

I never read the Courier for news only to laugh and line the Parrot's cage!
