Gazette mistakenly publishes fact checked Melinda speech

Well these are some interesting notes printed on the Gazette's website.

When the web editor wakes up and removes the mistakes, fear not, as a copy of the entire webpage has been saved by yours truly.

AirBnB hostess arrested?

The Queens Gazette has reported the following:

"The owner of the Bayside home where two young men were shot during a party has been arrested."

But they didn't elaborate and I can't find this in any other news source.

Your guess is as good as mine.

Gazette has interesting definition of "columnist"

The Queens Gazette published an "article" about how their "columnist" John Ciafone, was featured recently in New York Magazine. Both links look like ads to me and not editorial. But whatever. Here are some shots of his new digs in a building renovated by Broadway Stages last year.

Today is not about every president

Here is the actual copy of the so-called Uniform Monday Holiday Act of 1968 and . . .

. . . please note it clearly states that the third Monday in February is Washington's Birthday. Not a "Presidents/Presidents'/President's" Day as commercial interests and ignorant boobs have recently called it. [They can't even get the existence and placement of the apostrophe in their misnomer correct!]

So Publisher/Editor Tony Barsamian of the Queens Gazette, you have contributed to the denigration of the Father of Our Country, the Great Washington, for which this Monday's holiday is dedicated. You are grievously mistaken that we are to commemorate every Tom, Dick, and Harry President that has come down the pike.

Queens Gazette cries a river for troubled medical building

From the Queens Gazette:

Recently a police report was filed with the 114th Police Precinct by Pali Realty for extensive graffiti damage done to the multimillion dollar medical facility under construction at 23-25 31st St. in Astoria. Graffiti vandals damaged the façade and exterior glass windows. Damage to the building is estimated to cost more than $150,000, causing an unnecessary expense and delays.

“It is a real travesty that damage by graffiti vandals continues to plague our neighborhood. We deserve a neighborhood free from graffiti and vandalism,” said Yianni Konstantinides of Pali Realty, the developer of the property. “Every bit of damage done places burdensome costs for this project and negatively impacts this building and other hard-working small business owners in New York City.”

Pali Realty has invested millions of dollars into the Astoria Medical Facility on 31st Street. Upon completion, it will serve as a full-time medical facility featuring 134 underground parking spaces and offices for 26 physicians with a support staff of approximately 80 people, bringing jobs and medical care to a largely underserved community. The medical office building will be occupied by various medical groups and hospitals. These local medical services and new jobs will be a major benefit to the Astoria Community.

We're supposed to feel bad that the shady developer of the building that bought off all the area legislators, got a variance it didn't deserve, and made neighbors' lives hell, has to shell out money to remove graffiti?
