Farewell to a house that harkens back to the past.
Goodbye, stately trees.
Henry Fabian has purchased thou and you're on the path to destruction. There are no building plans filed yet, but one thing is certain: whatever replaces this is sure to be an oversized, out-of-character eyesore.

Looks like a nice spot for a 4 story cheap shitty third world apartment building with meters in the front, Fedders, garbage cans thrown all over complete with all paved cement and no grass, even though you can no longer do that, but who the hell in this city will enforce that. Plus fill it up with undesirables.
NYC a completely overrated place, not worth the cost of living.
Sure, lets transfer all that green space into public space - tear up sidewalks for trees, etc.
People do not need green space or sunlight or vegetation.
BTW, where are all the green groups when shit like this happens. Let me guess: shills for developers by pushing bikes, roof top gardens, etc.
This has to really be stopped... the developers these days are not like the ones when Queens was being developed. Back then they actually put into consideration the landscape and character of the neighborhood. Now they build whatever cheap crap box they can come up with. Also more home buyers need to show more interest in buying older homes. It can't change everything but it will start to make some difference.
An act of criminal vandalism committed against a community.
Under each window there's a little red diamond-shaped decorative touch. Probably with red brick. Who designs like that these days?
Queens is turning into crap.
When I retire the Hudson Valley or the Catskills could be a nice place to hang my hat. IMHO

IMHO this sounds like a developer.
No doubt that Queens is probably the worst borough around. Poor leaders, poor quality of life issues, lack of enforcement (that goes on in all boroughs), but the major culprit, the people in Queens really do not give a shit about what happens.

Design is the easy part. Try to get a developer to pay the extra dollar and a half is the problem.
When landlords used to own, or hell, even LIVE in the buildings they made, they cared about quality. Now since the market is about building and flipping, there is no incentive to build with quality.
If we had a rule that said any developer was required to own their property for a minimum of 20 years, the quality of construction would vastly improve. They would then be on the hook for maintenance and repairs, and will be less likely to skip on materials.
Sad part is that 3 family's asked the owners son about purchasing the house after she passed away, no talking to him. would not even tell us when he did decide to sell, he kept it empty for about 2 years, asked him when we did see people walking around property. no they always look then call and see if its for sale don't worry! then mr. Fabian is walking around with his clipboard!
