Glendale getting homeless shelter that Crowley said would never happen

From the Queens Courier:

The Department of Homeless Services (DHS) sent a 22-page letter to the mayor’s office in favor of a proposal by non-profit Samaritan Village to transform the abandoned factory on 78-16 Cooper Avenue in Glendale into a homeless shelter for 125 families, despite strong objections from community residents, the Courier first learned after noon on Monday.

Members of the community and all elected officials have been protesting against the homeless shelter saying that the site doesn’t make sense for the incoming struggling residents, because of the lack of transportation in the neighborhood and also because the abandoned factory, which used to make plane parts, sits on very contaminated ground.

“I am utterly disgusted by the initial reaction one year ago that it was a rumor, and I say to those people now that their negligence has caused this to occur,” said Kathy Masi, president of the Glendale Civic Association, which collected more than 4,000 signatures against the shelter. ”If they were vigilant this would have never come to this point. Now let’s see what they can do to stop if pass this stage. Obviously they were wrong about it not getting out of stage one. Shame on all of them for not listening to the community.”

It's funny how these articles never get quotes from the electeds when it's something negative.

Well, here's Liz Crowley saying the shelter would never happen. Whoops!

That's exactly what the dumbass sheeple deserve for electing there precious democrat's Crowley's included !!

This is worse--note the word "familys" as in 100's of nasty "urban" juvenile delinquents on the streets and in schools. Crime and theft is going to skyrocket in that area the 104 pct is useless. This is the worst thing that could possibly happen to Glendale

They voted in that knumbskull they deserve it. I saw some of her debates and I was sure anyone with a brain was going to vote for Caruana.

The sheeple spoke!

Why are these shelters always getting dumped into Queens, especially in certain areas like Jamaica. Why not put them in Manhattan where they would make more sense, in the city, near shops, near transportation and city agencies.

Always being dumped into Queens and for the most part always end up having a negative impact in the area because they are not properly managed.

Putting this homeless shelter in such a desolate area is just asking for trouble. Come back in a couple of years and see how that is working out.

People at QUeenscrap and people of New York City. You must always
remember that, "YOU" voted for her.

There is nothing they are doing that you didn't allow them to do.

Always remember, "YOU" are the ones who allowed her, and on a larger scale, "them", to do that.

DEAL WITH IT!

The stores at the failing Atlas Mall must love this news. More pilferers, uh...customers, for their up scale shops.

I do agree the Liz Crowley is useless, although she does not have the power or authority to stop the shelter. It's beyond her.
You can screen and shout that it's her fault but it's not.
Just look into those in higher positions in city government that approved it.
Bloomberg,etc..
Your getting it, so suck it up and don't panic yet.
The good christians of Glendale should embrace those with less this time of year.
Peace

I find it interesting that the city waited until after the election to announce this homeless shelter that Lizzie said would never happen. Kingpin Joe Crowley made sure that she would get in. All government birds of a feather flock together. People, you get the government you deserve. You all voted for her, now you have her. People in Glendale better put up the for sale signs soon before they have to sell their houses at a loss.

Nowhere in the bible does it say good Christians need to "embrace”
What bunch of crap propaganda!

One of my former occupations was a preacher at the dept of corrections
In the bible Luke 6:31 tells us "do on to others as they do to you" --Well, for starters that includes “do it to them first”!

To add the Old Testament Exodus
Samuel 25:13 writes: “And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword.
David in Psalms 144:1 writes: Blessed be the LORD my strength which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight,”

All of the above are ultimate expressions of self-defense. It doesn’t matter if it a direct threat or not. You have the right to protect your home, your family and your property, the Bible says not I.
The Bible couldn’t be clearer on the right we have as believers to protect our children, interest's and property.

NOW SHUT the F_UP, SIT IN THE CORNER
SPARE ME YOUR BULLSHIT ANONYMOUS!!

Go Tweed in Manhattan where most the population lives in secure guarded towers high above the streets

Career politicians.... you guys who vote for them are morons.

Keep voting for the same shitty politicians time and time again and watch the middle class disappear before your very eyes. Only then will the voters smarten up, but it will be too late. Politicians will sell you out to the highest bidders. NYC in ten years will consist of the very rich and the very poor. So sad, but true. What ever happened to term limits?

Lets see nyc after distupidoblasio comes into office....give nyc 2 years and you will travel back in time to 1970s/80s. This is just a sneak peek of whats to come. Stupid sheeple of nyc!

Glendale is F_cked !!
Property values will plummet and be scooped up by nasty people!
I bet a big number of those "homeless family's" are the same people who wilded, raped & looted New Orleans during Katrina.
Hide your young daughter's, move or put them in private school and pray you never have a blackout.
Horrible news but like said -The sheeple asked for it and deserve to pay the ultimate price and punishment.

They will have a lottery system to pick who gets to live in the shelter.

This is Bloombergs parting gift to the servants who live in the outer boroughs. Manhattan is for millionaires and tourists, the rest of us can live with their garbage.

What is the Glendale Civic Association? When or where do they meet? How do I join?

Anonymous said...

Yup, Glendale is F_CKED!

Read this article that the NY Times is currently running about the homeless. The neighborhood will soon become the 'Hood.

I read the article and yep QUOTE: "small children stand guard for their single mothers"

Single mothers with lots of cash baby's are exactly what these shelters are for.
Those irresponsible perpetually pregnant mothers should not be rewarded for having so many "cash baby's" Most grow up feral on the street and become monsters. A shelter this size will bring 100s of them to an already useless police percent.

Goodbye Glendale, RIP.
In 10 years all the households will need to be armed with bars the windows. (Much like the "change" in Bushwick after the 1965 immigration act come 1972)
Holy crap did Bloomberg get even and screw "Archie Bunkerville" good.

What a disaster
--Well that's what all those stupid inattentive people watching football and scripted fake games on TV voted and now they will sleep with it. Electing Crowleys and deBlazio types---These morons have literally committed suicide !!

RIP Glendale, you were once a paradise.

Just when I thought that section of Glendale had some hope.

Ned,the "the self proclaimed preacher" .You getting shelter so deal with it. You could run away like most people when confronted with a issue like this and move to Long Island.
Sell your home , I'll give you a good offer.
Bye Bye Ned.

Ned said...

Long Island and it $5500 a year average taxes NO THANKS
I thinking about moving back to Greenville. This city is and it's population of atrophied brains, criminals, foreigners fruit's nuts just isn't worth it anymore.

More: Fags kissing in the L train, cant have guns, cant park, sheep and blue donkeys everywhere F_ this !!!

If there are any environmental problems are found, this will never happen. 66% of proposed shelters that are in the stage this one is in, never happen. So there is hope.
