Ozone Park drug den explodes

From the Queens Chronicle:

A fire today at 106-10 Rockaway Blvd. in Ozone Park started with an explosion, according to nearby residents. They say the long-abandoned building has been a haven for drug addicts and squatters, and they are not surprised at what happened.

The NYPD and FDNY were still on the scene about one hour later as residents had come out of their apartments to watch the drama unfold in front of the two-story building, which up until about two years ago housed Better Homes Depot, they said.

Ozone Park has become such a warm, safe, and inviting place ever since the Racino opened up last year.
Pawn shops, bodegas, drug dens, burglaries, holdups, house foreclosures, corruption...
Thanks to our elected " leaders".

All of the above were there long before the racino arrived.

Pawn shops, bodegas, drug dens, burglaries, holdups, house foreclosures, corruption... Only thing new are the pawn shops and there were the good old we buy gold jewelry stores in the neighborhood pre-casino. Crime was up pre-casino as well. Ozone Park's been shot since the third-world moved in well before the casino.
