Filing the lawsuits Americans won't file

From the Daily News:

Nearly a decade ago, Liliana Sanchez stood knee-deep in dust at an office building near Ground Zero, vacuuming for $60 a day with only a paper mask to protect her.

These days, the undocumented Colombian immigrant struggles to breathe while climbing a flight of subway stairs and worried about the future of her medical care.

"They called us heroes while we were working and we also felt like heroes. Now they have pushed us aside," said the 40-year-old from Medellin.

Sanchez will join 200 other undocumented 9/11 cleanup workers Tuesday at a rally to push for continued health coverage and legal immigration status.

Most of their compensation suits they have filed are pending, and they feel stuck in limo while health-care and immigration changes are on the horizon.

Not sure if "limo" was a typo or a Freudian slip. Not sure who was calling illegals "heroes" at the time for vacuuming up dust. I thought that term was reserved for the Americans who died trying to save others or were pulling people out of the rubble.

What really pisses me off is that these illeagal allieans were making that ol mighty American dollar while our American po po, fire dept. and construction workers were rescuing and recovering the victims of 9/11. I say deport these greedy people. They have alot of nerve trying to suck more out of us!! If we can't get our own to be treated for their medical problems why should they get help?? They were'nt even at the Trade Center, they were working illeagally across the street. They are, and Mike Bloomberg, are sucking the life out of New Yorkers...

The workers say they are grateful for federally funded medical care they get but are afraid it could vanish without mandatory funding.

How about police and firmen that are NOT getting care.

The clubhouse tweeders are a bunch of pricks.

Thanks "Honest" Joe Crowley. Thanks a lot.

You do shit for your community but when it comes to bullshit like this you are front and center.

How are these people's lives any less important than the Fire Fighters, Cops, and construction workers? Cause they're here illegally?

You people have to grow the f up and grow a pair, just like these guys. Instead you sit on your asses and complain about "illegals" coming in and f'ing things up. Guess what, most of your mothers and father's left in the 70's when things got to rough for em here. And the one's who remained made sure they didn't make it any easier on the "new comers".

It's the viscious cylce that we call living in NY. Stop crying about it. It's a shame people don't know how to lay in the bed that they made for themselves. Quit blaming everyone and look at yourself first.

No one said their lives are less important. But they should be living elsewhere and the government should be keeping track of who's coming here so they can keep us safe and do things like plan schools, zoning, sewers, electricity, etc. Let's remember the 9/11 hijackers did not have legal status in this country.

And no, my parents did not move, and many of the parents of the people who post here did not move, if they are still alive.

I also have quite a few readers who were not born here, but came here from other countries LEGALLY and do not appreciate these persons jumping the line and then suing because they got sick. That's US paying for that, in case you haven't noticed.

And no, they are not considered "heroes" for sweeping up a contaminated area.

So, my dear bleeding heart, you can go ahead and pay for them. I'd rather prevent my neighborhood, city and country from going to hell in a handbasket. Let's remember, just as you say they "have a pair" for moving here illegally, it means they abandoned a country that "got too rough for 'em" which is what you just accused the 'Archie Bunkers' that you think post here of doing! Hypocrite.

Personally, when evryone other than them were helping down at WTC, those people were out to make a buck on it instead of help. In my eyes, not only are they law breakers, being and working here illeagally, but they are some greedy ass people to make money off another person's loss. They should'nt be here...

I was actually not thinking Archie Bunker as I hold Carol O'Connor in high regard having attended his alma mater.

Being born somewhere else that indeed you are escaping from to come to a place where you are looking to make a new life can be a worthy experience. It's why this country exists, and New York is the mouth of it so wanting to put a lid on it is like the Mets winning a World Series, it ain't gonna happen.

I mean shit we can go for days about this but I'm just sayin, it's worth smellin the roses.

And how is this different for anyone who was born in NYC who moved out in the 1970s for a new experience?

Furthermore, most Queens neighborhoods were not affected by the decline of the 1970s. Sure, maybe the streets were a little dirtier and the grass in their parks wasn't as green, but the wholesale destruction that happened in other neighborhoods didn't happen in most of the good neighborhoods that exist today that in recent years suddenly became overburdened by illegal aliens and overdevelopment.

It's why EVERY country on this planet exists BTW - so please don't put yourselves ABOVE those that were here before simply because you can. You fkd up your own countries, and you will fk up ours IF given the chance.
