NYPD finds firetrap nightclub in Jamaica basement

JAMAICA, QUEENS (WABC) -- An underground club was found in the basement of a house in Queens.

Police found it while responding to a shooting.

Authorities were called to the scene in Jamaica Saturday morning. One man was shot and taken to the hospital.

But what police weren't expecting to find was a nightclub in the basement.

Buses had to be brought in to evacuate more than 50 club-goers, according to police.

So far, no charges have been filed.

If anyone can find the address for this, please post it.

what about the crack and other drugs that they found along with the illegal cabaret in the basement?

check the dam 311 logs for noise complaints, probably been disturbing neighbors for years.

You would think that cops would have learned by now to just stay away from nightclubs in Jamaica, shooting or no.
But at least no cops were involved in the shooting. Maybe that is why it didn't make the front page.

Maspeth Mom says...

Why would cops bring in buses for the patrons of an illegal night club. Why can't they go home they whey they got there?

They're called "After Hours" illegal clubs that open when regular clubs close:( Shady Business and they brought the buses because the party goers were going to jail:)
