Avella vs. Padavan?

From the Daily News:

Avella, who made an appearance at the Stevenson Democratic Club last night and chatted about his 2010 plans with a reader (thanks reader!), confirmed to me that he is indeed considering a Senate run, but insisted he has made "no firm decision" as yet.

"There's a possibility, yes," Avella said. "There are discussions going on...I think it's appropriate. You know me, I've been a big reformer person, and Albany is certainly a place that's in need of reform."

"The incumbent, Frank Padavan, has been there for 37 years. Whether you like it or not, I think it's time for a change...There's no question he has his supporters. A lot of his supporters are my supporters."

My advice: Go after Ackerman instead.

Padavan has and continues to do great for this district. Sorry Avella but look elsewhere.

Absolutely. He is vulnerable as well and he is doing a crappy job for his district...and he doesn't seem to care!

Good-by and good riddance Frank. It's all over.

Padavan has been in the Senate for decades and has consistently allowed it to remain dysfunctional. Padavan consistently voted for convicted criminal Joe Bruno to be Majority Leader for years. In addition, Padavan elected to make Pedro Espada to be second in line to the Governor during the coup. Padavan is apart of the dysfunction in Albany, and he needs to go. We need someone who will stand up to both party leaders, and Avella is that guy.

Tony is unknown in Long Island.
How will he win LI voters over an incumbent?
Doesn't seem likely.

Long Island is not apart of the district

It most certainly is. Here's a map.

James Gennaro better not run again. This lying crook will lose again. I will make sure of that again. heeee

I can't take Tony seriously after his support for Charles Barron for City Council President. I opposed Quinn's support of reversing term limits, but Barron would be infinitely worse.

He couldn't beat Ackerman, Plus he would need more money. Padavan, get him out.

did you expect Senator Padavan (cons.,lib.g.o.p.) to vote for a Dem/Lib. candidate?

does not the Dem/Lib. party always vote the party line?

why should he be different? he is only one man among the N.Y.S. representatives. putting blame on him alone is Crap.

six dems. to one g.o.p.,registrants in his district, and winning is significant.

look at what a one party dem. congress is planning for U.S. seniors healthcare? $500 billion cut in services that their social security contributions, from their labor, paid for.

watch your dem.congress in action on C-SPAN,and cringe.

grow up Tabone. Tony Avella will KILL Frank padavan.

Avella harassed the Whitestone parish. Butler, Manton & Crowley hate Greeks because Virgen Fatimah tells them to oppose the Heresy of Photius. It took Sheldon Silver to promote Gianaris.
Ben Rosenthal led the fight to embargo arms to Turkey over Cyrpus. Bartholomew knows Ackerman is the best supporter of the Patriarchate against all those who hate and demote us.

I just heard Frank Padavan shit in his pants at the thought of Avella running. Maybe Halloran can clean it up and put it next to his bowl of salad and pray to it.

Avella is not running against Ackerman. No matter how many times you offer him the line. Its Padavan all the way. And you can make Charles Barron the College Point Sports Complex of 2010 all you like. He is still kicking Padavans ass. Lots of voters are coming out next year and they are sick of politicans. Padavan is done.

Ok who would you want, Tony or Vall"OWNED"? I got a sick feeling that Vallone is running.

Anonymous said...

hahahahahahah sure vallone is running. try real hard to trick Baldy into the race. who cares if Vallone runs. even better for avella. he gets to spend all his time on the half of the district that he doesnt represent and then beat padavan by twenty points in the general. shit. gennaro almost beat padavan. the guys represents 3percent of franks distirct. frank should retire already. bye bye frank.

Go for Ackerman! Avella connects with ordinary people (although he has his moments of chutzpah, too). Ackerman's arrogance is beyond repair.

Padavan is old-school responsive to his constituents. He is actually dependable. Leave him be.

Doesn't Gennaro have dibs on this seat? He almost won last time.

Either way, there should be no incumbents left in the Senate after the next elections. They all have to go.

Both Barron and Gennaro are shameless. They opposed the repeal of term limits, but then ran for a third term anyway.
