Pork rules being interpreted differently

From the NY Post:

City Council members can keep dishing pork to nonprofits that employ their relatives.

The city's Conflicts of Interest Board ruled [Thursday] that council members can use their earmarks to fund such groups as long as their family members do not benefit directly.

From the NY Times:

The rules have always existed on the books but have never been as closely interpreted. Under the opinion, for example, Councilman Erik Martin Dilan of Brooklyn would very likely have been prohibited from sending more than $187,000 to the North Brooklyn Community Council, a fledgling nonprofit group run by his wife. Mr. Dilan directed the funds to the group from 2005 to 2008. During most of that time, he was either engaged or married to the group’s director, Jannitza Luna, who also happened to be his former staff member, Mr. Dilan told The Daily News last year.

From the NY Times:

In settings large and small, Mr. Seabrook has shown a tendency as a politician to promote family members, several times giving them jobs. Other times, they have gotten consulting work from nonprofit groups with which he is affiliated.

And in two of the cases, Mr. Seabrook never told his Council colleagues that the people he was promoting were related to him.

And as far as Albany pork goes, Seminerio's district is getting screwed.

all this corruption and theft of our money by Christine Quinn and All those city council members have been sanctioned by Bloomberg who also gave over 5 milllion of our money to Simcha Felder. it is so disgusting. Bloomberg is killing the working class and even the homeless who have to pay rent in shelters. Bloomberg is Evil and Christine Quinn is a nasty bitch and most of the city council members are crooks such as John LIU. NYC is a ceasepool

It doesn't matter much...not for the not-for-profit groups who are "friends" of "Parkside".

They'll continue getting their pork money from the pols who use that very same "Parkside".

In return many non-profits are "urged" to use "Parkside" as their lobbyists for fund
raising AT A HEFTY FEE!

That keeps the likes of Evan & Toby well stuffed with greenbacks!

Their overly plump countenances well attest to this!

Its funny how the self styled capital of the world idly stands around and watches these two bit punks mismanage a city, waste our money, and make a mockery of the government.

It is, however, inexcusable that our elite in this city simply doesn't care.

I guess running around the world on vacation, having homes in Bermuda, and summering in the Hamptons reveals lives empty of real content or concern beyond their next dinner.

As long as their block is landmarked and their community gets special services undreamed in Queens, their nanny is safely tucked away in the next boro but just a subway ride away, and plenty of opportunities remain in real estate there is no incentive to notice this unfolding scum.

Tax the hell out of those bastards.

Only when this bullshit hits their lives will they become engaged.

Divide and conquer.

Bloomberg knows this..."Snake".

His research analysts have, no doubt, identified and confirmed the nabes that will support him.

So Mike's already bribed them with the delivery of high caliber services...sanitation, fire, police, schools, hospitals, etc.

The well healed landmarked nabes, of course, are the most beholding to the commissar!

I just made this youtube about city council with all it's conflicts of interest and the biggest joke in town is the conflict of interest committee.

When you go to this youtube there is a link to a rant where I scream about city council with the exception of Tony Avella who I want to be our mayor.

thanks,

This one is on Christine Quinn's slushgate scandal and hints at how much money tax payers will be paying for her top lawyer that specializes in white collar crime and other legal fees for other city staff members.

This is my youtube on Mike Bloomberg's streets of New York which are in horrifying shape thanks to his administration putting his tsunami of community crushing development ahead of infrastructure concerns, safety and the what was best for the people of New York City.

But Suzannah, Bloomturd is spending so much money now that we will all be brainwashed zombies when we step into the voting booth! I'm sure you've been nauseated by the ads that give us the "everything's all right" attitude of the turd-term seeking mayor. This city has the best mayor money can buy. WAIT! Money can't buy happiness but it sure can buy elections!!!
