The NYPD is on pace to see more than 4,000 cops retire or resign this year – the most since the post-9/11 exodus, data obtained by The Post show.
Pension fund figures reveal 3,054 officers have filed to leave the department so far this year — 42% more than the 2,155 who exited at the same time last year through Sept. 30.
If the pace continues in the fourth quarter, the NYPD stands to lose 4,072 cops this year. That’s even higher than the crippling attrition the department suffered in 2002, when 3,846 officers left the force following Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, where 24 cops were killed.
Union leaders warn the mass exits have created a “staffing emergency.”
To get enough cops on the streets as the census falls to about 34,000 cops — down from the 40,200 peak in 2000 — the NYPD is on pace to spend $600 million on uniformed staff overtime in the new fiscal year that began in July. That’s 61% percent more than the $372 million budgeted for OT, according to figures from the Independent Budget Office.
NYPD overtime spending had already ballooned to $670 million in fiscal year 2022, which ended June 30 — up 57% from the $426 million spent the year before, when COVID caused the cancellation of many police-heavy public events.

Makes appearances in front of cameras all day long then goes "clubbing" in private clubs till 4AM then: REPEAT, EVERY NIGHT.
No way is this mayor going all day on 4 hours sleep without drugs.
I seen this before many times, even knew folks who died from it.
This mayor is likely doing massive amounts of cocaine, then likely a half life Zanex or Ambion to "shut off" for that 4 hours sleep.
The story's of this mayor often coming home shitfaced parking his car 2 wheels on a Brooklyn sidewalk gotta be true.
Somebody needs to give this sick unfit for duty civil service person a drug test, and if he fails (and I believe he will fail a drug test) THROW HIM OUT.

A person this, with long time daily abuse would not be able to stop long enough to pass a drug test. Or detox unnoticed, serious withdrawal needing medical detox, rehab or going out the country in a straight jacket, doctor, shrink and sober-guard for weeks.
The key to getting him certified "unfit" and out of office is a drug test.
No way can is this guy going 20 - 21 hours a day without using several different drugs let alone capable of making any decisions under such influence.

Hey everybody does drugs at some point including coffee, tea, aspirin, alcohol, assorted roots and leaves. I pretty much speak for Joe and most normal people and I will.
Back when I first got drunk, then did some coke it was a euphoric experience ever. Same with coke, I became confident and funny and could literally talk to anyone. On and off from the ages 16-22. It was fun to go clubbing, dancing etc but one day it just all stopped, didn’t work anymore. And it’s wasn't because of tolerance either because I rarely drank, rarely indulged acid or coke (too expensive and the quality became absolute garbage)
Now it just makes me tired or sick, with no fun part.
Unlike the mayor who could be doing this to score dope or meat men in private what would be the point for a straight sober person with many good friends.
Waste of time and money, I no longer go to clubs. I’m not into all the 3rd world shit, LBGT, BT, TB trans and every dam other denomination you will find in a bar or club these days. Oh and the HORRIBLE music you will hear.
