The Department of Transportation Alternatives are making up neighborhoods now

As everybody knows on this blog and anyone else that lives in Queens that counts, the only Fresh Pond that exists in Queens is a street that it's named after. Fresh Pond Road goes from Glendale to Ridgewood ending at Flushing Avenue near Maspeth (thanks to the commentor and Crappy for correcting me). Gotta wonder if the DOT or more likely Lyft/Citibike are getting into the branding of neighborhoods, since they are privatizing public streets with these crappy bikes (that are apparently very easy to steal).

JQ, Fresh Pond Road starts at Myrtle Avenue on the Ridgewood/Glendale border and stretches a bit further than Metropolitan Avenue to Flushing Avenue in Maspeth. As for the magically created neighborhood of Fresh Pond, it has never existed. Although Google maps is now showing it as the neighborhood around the intersection of FPR and Metropolitan. That area was always considered as kind of a border with Middle Village to the East, Maspeth to the North and Ridgewood to the South and West.

Which state government is dumber New York or California?

Seems to be a quirk of Google Maps but was surprised to also find it in Wikipedia:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fresh_Pond,_Queens

Not sure where Google Maps initially pulled it from. Similar situation to Haberman perhaps?

The light was RED for the biker. Clearly shows in the video.
Regardless, it is a crime to leave the scene of an accident.

TA commies what say?

Nothing destroys a country more than a bicycle.

The area between Eliot Avenue and Mount Olivet Crescent was sometimes referred to as Fresh Pond during the mid to late 1800's. The area had the Fresh Ponds before they were filled in.

It's on the 1950s USGS maps, so it was invented before then.
