Still no end to illegal truck traffic

From Cleanup Jamaica Queens:

Easter Weekend and the illegal truck driving continues at a chronic pace because many are not doing what needs to be done. While the 103rd is doing the best they can, that is not enough. Without DOT being involved, without lackluster Queens Borough President Melinda Katz doing anything and with our own Jamaica elected officials not lifting a finger on an serious issue that has been going on for years, the problem continues at a neck breaking speed. Light weight Senator Leroy Comrie, who voted against a recent bill and stated about the high asthma rate in the Jamaica community, well what the fuck do you think happens when these diesel fuel trucks drive illegally on residential streets.

So much for constituent services from the BPs office. What are they doing? What actions have they taken to help with this chronic situation?

Why pass any laws if they can always be broken without consequences? Anarchy rules. Maybe we should all become criminals.

Enforcing truck traffic is on the same level as enforcing jaywalking or bicycle infractions. It desperately needs to be done but unfortunately is not.

Truck enforcement should be a top priority with all this vision zero crap.

I thought Cleanup Jamaica Queens was dead?

It was, but yesterday there was more than one resurrection.

The death of Clean Up Jamaica Queens is like the death of comic book characters, they rise up every now and then.

Two weeks ago the largest rig I ever saw (except possibly on a cross country highway) was stuck on Austin Street and 69th Road. He had tried to make the turn at 67 Avenue, gave up and backed up to 67 Road and ended jacked up across Austin Street with the cab down in a private house garage entrance. If he went any further he could have blown up the whole block.

It took the Police and Fire Dept to get the rig out.
