Yea, I read that a few days ago, too.
1. It just shows how out of touch the official party organs are in the day of the blog.
2. It shows the smug indifference to public education by the 4th estate in Queens. They have no doubt that your average reader is accepting in anything that is told to them, and very deferential to authority.
Boy are they in for a surprise.
This is a joke, right?
Why is the article dated November 4, 1986, yet 6 paragraphs into the article it says:
"Term-limited out of her post in 2001, Shulman did not stray far from the public spotlight."
They knew in 1986 that she would run into problems with term limits?
Either they didn't bother proof reading the article (BIG surprise!), or this is an April Fool's Gag.
It was in last week's edition, which was a 40-year retrospective. So, it wasn't written in 1986, it was looking back at 1986.
Anybody wanna buy some swampland???
The Trib is a partisan rag. No credibility whatsoever.
