Prepare to vote 4 times next year

From the NY Times:

Even the most civic-minded New Yorkers may become exasperated next year when they are asked to vote in four separate elections. This extra burden on voters is yet another sign of the enduring dysfunction in Albany. New York State lawmakers created this problem because it’s easier on the politicians, even though it’s costly and harder on the voters.

New York’s presidential primary is set for April 19. Congressional primaries are expected to be held on June 28, and state legislative primaries on Sept. 13, with the general election on Nov. 8. There is no reason the state primary can’t be held on the same day as the congressional primary, thus eliminating the extra election and saving the state $50 million.

Lawmakers should change the election schedule as soon as they return to Albany on Jan. 6. But that’s only one step in what’s needed to make it easier to register and to vote in New York.

I've been voting for 12 years now and not once has any politician I voted for been elected.

Voting, no thanks. I'll save my time and get a few extra hours of sleep so I can slave away harder.

Voting in June instead of September is good for the incumbents, but difficult for challengers. A challenger needs the summer months to use out-of-school volunteers, go house to house knocking on doors, etc. Let's make all primaries in September.

We're so out numbered by Takers voting is a joke,
Romney called 47% takers and lost the election
If it were only 47% we would have a fighting chance
We're Greece now just waiting for the shit to hit the fan.

We live in an ersatz republic.
In NYC, REBNY runs the elections by buying candidates. You get to vote for the lesser of the two snakes offered to you.
Is that Democracy? It's more like national socialism...NAZI real estate city.

“Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.” ~ Benjamin Franklin

Molan Labe: According to Wikipedia, the quote has been misattributed to Franklin, even though some on the Internet have attributed the quote to him. It's a good saying, but he never said it.

Members of the REBNY are Takers too. Talkers of corporate welfare.

i can't believe it! it was on the internet so it must be true ;-)
i just didn't want to claim it as my own and start more off topic twist.
there was a whole issue on another thread of people not understanding italics.
the bottom line, no matter who said it, it was, is and will always be true!
and i love Franklin's wit, prose and wisdom
we need more wisdom

let me try again, i checked it in my Good Book

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding
Proverbs 3:13 KJV
